Seeing how they came home really fresh, I think you gave them to much fuel to joy fly around. Feed is the key and finding the right balance will have them racing fir home instead of joy flying. When a pigeon mind is on the job, falcons ate a factor, they'll just jet around them. When pigeons have to much in them and a falcon pops in on them because of the excess fuel, they will jump into the tail wind to escape the falcon. This is another reason why feed quantity is the key.

We up here in New Jersey flying CJC combine from ACSC club had the similar problem birds go to races and not coming home we still up to this day never figured out what was the problem and the ones that come home got sick many losses from sickness and races. I Lost two weeks of racing because the birds was so sick I didn’t lose as many as you did but I had my share.

In a way, it's good to know that it also happens to others. I just could not figure out how I got all my birds back (58 birds on the first drop and the rest came in minutes later) and a week later have such a horrible experience just 20 more miles.

The only mistake you made was not getting in the pool. As long as the birds are healthy and the weather isn't too bad they should be fine. Hopefully the late ones learned something.

It happens. Majority will come home. 120 miles is a very good toss, will get them ready for race day for sure. I would give them a couple of days rest as they were a lot of time on the wing and loft flying rest of week, they'll be good 👍 good luck

That is not a bad toss they have learned that they have to use their own head, instead of follow my leader. The ones that have come home on their own, you shouldn't lose them now. They could have hit some more training birds and got dragged all over the place. Now they have done that distance you shouldn't have any problems with them. I personally would now train them just to 40 miles and keep them there. KEEP THE SPEED. They have already shown that they have the ENDURANCE. GOOD LUCK WITH THEM ,YOU WILL GET SOME MORE BACK. 👍

single up tosses at 10,20,30,40 miles is a lot better than going that far, its makes the pigeons think for themselves and sorts the pigeons out before racing starts, knowing that last 40 miles off by heart makes them sprint for home.

Amazing house you have ❤️ how much would you pay for a similar one? 120 miles is a long trainer , no one has the right idea of how too get them ready, 3 trainers at 40 miles or 1 at 120 ? Or 6 at 30 twice a day and stop ? Then you start to look at your pigeons ? Are they good enough? Is it 5g / hawks ? A early lib maybe would of been better or maybe not? Soo many questions? Hope they come 👍

The birds look good and healthy no worries my man anything could have happened , hawks , hit Other Birds or they just playing and taking there time . I live in Boca and if I get up early enough I see birds coming down 441 then they hook over toward 95 S . Love watching them when I get the chance . You will be fine. I would let them rest 2 days and then lift fly them 2 days then put them back at 100 miles just my opinion

What can you do, it’s part of the game. Whatever happened to you probably happened to me too. Sadly anything can happen after we release them, that’s outside our control. But you aren’t kidding 180 miles for the first race ain’t no joke.

That’s how it is sometimes brother. I think they got split up real bad or maybe ran into another big flock which caused them to split up. You got them birds in too good of shape for them to get confused in my opinion. Nevertheless god bless brother as always and I hope you get the majority back.

@@ponderosalofts6851 yes sir happens all the time they're other flyers that toss birds and sometimes your birds end up crossing other flockes in the air then when your birds are further away in a different direction they end up looking how to get back. Alittle at a time and they end up encountering problems sometimes along the way like hawks and hunters and bad weather conditions and they get so tired that they stop sometimes to drink water and rest. But eventually they try very hard to get back. And when they do they are in alittle bad shape trust me.

Which ever ones don't come back is because something happened to them. I've had birds come back after a training toss come back after a month. In really bad shape. Cause of all that they have dealt with along the way trying to make it back home.

Sorry can’t help myself here. You should really address that issue with the water pooling / gutter on the other loft. Not only is it unhealthy, but you could loose precious time in a race while your birds go after that dirty water… you could end up even loosing a race as a result!
