本物の甲冑と同様に細部までを手作業で行い、金工や漆工、染織皮革などの技術が結実した工芸品「江戸甲冑」。「甲冑師」の家に生まれ、高校卒業後、祖父と父の下で本格的な修行を始め、技術だけでなく専門的知識も身につけるべく研鑽を積む若者を紹介します。

兜ってすごいなあ いつも兜は自分を強く大きく見せるために色々着飾って逞しく見せるように、角が大きかったりして、そんなん戦いずらいでしょと思ってた。 そんなんならもっと身を守るために画期的に作らないとダメでしょとも思ってた。 これをみて色々意味合いも知れたし、ちゃんと画期的に作られてたのも知れた。

同じ金工をやってる人間として 伝統技法は無くしてはいけないと思う 職人業は終わりがないから面白い

やはり正式の大鎧、厳星兜は良い。
2:54 ここでさらっと出てきた紫糸威肩白浅葱鎧、実は他の大鎧とは違い胴が小札頭が露出しない特殊な威し方になっているとか。弓の弦が引っかからないようにする事が目的だった可能性があるので、もしかすると弦走韋は欠損したり取り外されたりしたのではなく、最初からなかったのかもしれない。

is there a special purpose for this armor? like symbol of samurai spirit, or something else; or is it just a novelty, souvenir

Not really they are just making that one because it's the most traditional type of armor, it's really detailed and the teaching of making specifically that one has been passed through generations and with all the resources they have they can "mass produce" it, although it's not that easy.

最初戦国武将とかなんとか出てきたけど、作ってる甲冑は大鎧だから戦国時代じゃなくね

戦国時代でも将軍は大鎧使ってるし、あと今川義元は確か使ってましたよ！

めっちゃ思った。大鎧が実戦で使用されていたのは平安〜南北朝くらいですよね。戦国時代はほとんど胴丸か腹巻ばっかりで、後半くらいから当世具足が登場するイメージ。
