@@Timmyjl25That makes no sense. No 12 year old can legally buy a rifle in Texas. This kid was probably in a street gang, listens to "Drill" music and thinks he's Al Capone. How do kids steal cars? Is that a Texas problem to? Or a child problem? Why do we blame dogs when they bite people, but never blame the person when someone commits murder, you just blame the tool but not the individual? By your logic the gun should go to prison and this "poor chubby 12 year old who looks 25" should be given therapy? Kids lucky its not 1862, or he'd be executed right in public!

Can you read? No one said a twelve-year-old bought a gun. Do you know the difference between getting your hands on something and buying something? "There is no minimum age to possess a gun in Texas. So while a 17 -- or 15, or 12-year old -- can't buy a gun, they can legally be given a gun by an adult. If they have parental permission. As Charles C. W. Cooke explains in the National Review, "While there is no minimum age to possess firearms in Texas, it remains illegal in the state for to sell, lease, rent, or give a firearm to a person under 18 years of age without a parent’s permission."

Sonics are required by federal law to have a public bathroom. They often keep them locked and you have to ask for the key if they are in a bad neighborhood. The bathroom will likely be located on the side of the building away from the drive-through window. Federal law states that if an establishment sells or offers food or drink and a place to sit down, the establishment is required to have a bathroom available to the public.

The question is why would anyone be riding around with a AR 15 in their car ? They should be charged as an adult. R.I.P too the young man. And God bless the family. Thank you Lamont for sad story

I wish you could do a story on Suzie Mages. She was murdered in 1977 in Denton, Texas. She was only 12 years old and her murder was unsolved. She was a closed friend of my sister.

This is such a sad story, but thanks for sharing, Lamont! Also, to clarify for some people in the comments-Matthew Davis (the man with the face tattoos) is the employee who was shot and killed for absolutely no reason. I saw someone comment saying they don’t “feel bad for a thug with facial tattoos” which is completely unacceptable. Rest In Peace, Matthew.

There is a problem with this that includes the parents. The kid was obviously disturbed and should have been locked up in treatment and not able to get a gun at all. This is outrageous stupidity. RIP to the worker, and I hope the punk kid spends the next 50 years in prison.

Forgot to add that happened off of Alta Mesa and Kingswood and I live a block away off of Trail Lake and Kingswood which is like 2 blocks from where that tragedy happened. I've seen the memorial and have always wondered what happened. Thanks Lamont yet again for your amazing storytelling!
