Rosanne being mad about the beer and Dan saying "I had to give him the beer, the Hooker scared him." was the perfect epilogue to that beer scene.

@@ConsiderTheCrows The problem is you're drinking "Corana" when that shit tastes like you're drinking battery acid. My recommendation is to try "Blue Moon", it's so smooth and has a orange after taste.

@@ConsiderTheCrows It's an aquirred taste, a sip can't create the dopamine that people learn to understand the taste gives. So a kid would never like it if they only have a sip. It's not a good taste, you aquire and get used to the bitterness, and the pathways remember enjoying it in your brain. The taste then gets good, it doesn't need to be beer it can be coffee, or even something like oysters.

It's insane how well they casted the actor for DJ. He looks more like Roseanne's kid than any of her real children.
@foltzenlogel

Michael Fishman was actually the third choice. Sal Barone was originally cast as DJ in the first episode, but he refused to get along with the other cast members. When he was replaced the network executives wanted Macaulay Culkin (since he was the hottest child actor at the time) to play DJ. However Roseanne wanted Michael Fishman and she put her foot down on the issue.
"Dad, why did Mum call you a man like that?" "Because she was mad at me, Deej." "But I thought it was good to be a man?" "Oh no, not since the late 60s, son."

The original Roseanne show to me is the best realistic family sitcom I've ever seen. John Goodman and her were perfect as a struggling down to earth blue collar couple just trying to get by.. The relationship between Becky and Darlene was as authentic as two sisters could have. Arguing, shouting, making fun of each other and talking about boys and school stuff, puberty issues, first dates...they covered it all. I couldn't see any acting, (when actors don't sound like they are reading off and relying on the script to give their characters a personality, that to me is great acting) it sounded and felt like genuine emotions when they spoke...it was like listening in on a real family's life...with very witty humor.. Aunt Jacky had her issues with insecurities and choosing bad dates, being at their house to much and irritating Dan. Often hilarious that tension... The relationship between Jacky and Roseanne was complicated but believable as sisters that argued, but undoubtedly needed each other. I loved that family growing up. I still love the early episodes as much as back then. She was extremely clever, witty, and truthful. Her show pioneered a lot. I respect her tremendously for being bold. She made a comment on Twitter, I don't give a damn...The Connors without Roseanne was ridiculous. To even think of continuing without her would make me feel betrayed by the actors that were given a stage because of her. That's my take on it.
