12 volt solar deep well pump

I'm testing out this DC 12Volt Solar Deep Well Water Pump Submersible Water Pump Pond Irrigation Farm Purchased from Ebay like most products out of china you can never quite trust the specs supplied so I'm experimenting with a simple solar setup in a abandoned stock well. It worked well all I needed was the pump and 2 100 watt Newpowa solar panels no battery, charge or motor control required. A very simple setup which would be useful in many off grid, emergency or ranching situations.
With this pump the motor seized after a couple of years I just replaced with this one.

Just received my 12 volt DC screw pump from "TEMU". $75.00 CDN inc shipping to my door. Figuring now how to hook up a switch when tank is full. For my cabin.

That pump uses 180 w and you got 200 hooked up that's why you walking in front of it turns it off. I'm glad to see it work

If you use lcb controler you can hook another 2 panels in series and parallel to make more volts and you will not have to many problems with power 2 solar panel in series 18v 5amp +18 5amp = 36v 5amps 1 solar panel parallel 39v 9amps + 36v 5amps = 36v14 amps With the lcb controler frome amazon that is the best and easiest way to use your solar pump without battery

Awesome! I'm thinking of gett ing one for my well. Do you have a video on how you attach the wiring from the pump to the solar panel and how you attach the garden hose to the pump? Do you use any valve for the garden hose?

So if I set it up in a northern climate, it should pump all day until the sun goes down and if you drill a tiny hole in your pipe below the frost line it should drain back down to prevent freezing overnight and when the sun comes back up it’ll pump all day again. Cool

Yep it could work like that with this unit i don't think you even need the drain hole it seemed to drain back down anyway.

Drain hole is needed if the system is sealed at the top. But this is open ended

I bought a similar 1 that shorted out after 2 uses. The seal apparently is rather bad. Is yours still running? Also mine came with 15 m of 1.5 mm2 cable. Have you ever calculated what voltage drop that has with 12V 20A? You almost lose 1/2 of your voltage. Even replacing (cutting the thin cable and try to make a waterproof connection with the thicker cable) by 6mm2 cable, trying for that max depth of 30m will be a challenge. The physics of voltage drop is a real bummer for a 12 v deep well pump. But if it runs, it runs. Dont move it too much or that seal will create a leak and it is a paper weight...

I'll check and see I've already had a few uses but it's been sitting in a well for about 6 months and I would be interested to see if it still works.

Yes I could have that would have allowed a smaller solar array but complicated the install. One of the coolest things about this setup is its simplicity.
