    I never had AMS problem but i always have been traveling with these natural laws of how to travel in the Mountains. After watching your videos we also stayed at Leh for 72 hours just to rest ourselves. I took the plenty of water. Also I always carry glucon D which really works for me or some ors with me. And also I would like to have light meals while traveling. And I am always fond of slow pace traveling or giving ease between the days. Hate those itineraries where people take you in group and make you travel too many places in shorter period of time. After too many bad experiences nowadays I travel solo or either with one or two person. But you make always nice videos and give us so many information with proper details.

    DHEERAJ, you are an extraordinary content creator..without any dramatic and artificial presentation or click bait kind of thumbnails, you always provide the aspiring travellers with all the CRITICAL information.. AUTHENTICITY and SOBRIETY along with subtle HUMOUR are your striking qualities as a content creator. A LADAKH or a SPITI trip does require these precautions regardless of the age.. Nothing can be taken for granted..like what we often do on a NANITAL or MUSSORIE trip.

    Thanks for the video. I am planning for a trek to Yunam peak at 61110 m but a little anxious because I haven't been to that much height before and the trekking company through which I will be visiting is a newbie in the game. Do you think ramping up my cardio training will help or is it based on pure genetics n how much time I give my body to acclimatize.

    I was in Leh in June 1st week travelled via Road. Till Leh it was ok not much AMS felt. Although Blood O2 level fell to 85. Stayed 2 nights there. After that went to Pangong Tso. That’s where it fell to 75 for me and 69 for wife. Then it hit like a rock. Breathlessness But it wasn’t critical. Enjoyed with that Blood O2. Level. Nubra valley was a cakewalk compared to these two. Although level was 85 but by then we were acclimatized. Also we were taking Dimox twice a day to counter AMS with plenty of water. Bottomline. AMS can be countered by meds , plenty of water and inhibiting body movement that require sudden spurt like running , brisk walking etc.

    We visited Ladakh area including Tsomoriri during July 3-10th via Manali-Leh highway. We used Homeopathic medicines for AMS. We never faced any problems as Homeopathic medicines worked so well for all 6 of us. We started to take few altitude and oxygen levels adjusting medicines few days before reaching Leh. I recommend everyone to consult good Homeopathic doctor for AMS problems when you are going for higher altitude places.

    Thank you! Well, if you go in summer time, that will help your body not worry about cold conditions and secondly there will be variety of soft drinks you can choose to drink throughout the day.. so there isn’t any correlation between month of travel and AMS, the above two points will indirectly helps your body battle any chances of AMS

    Excellent information Dheeraj! Thanks a lot so much. Would like your views on my questions - I am travelling with family to Leh from Hyderabad by road via Manali next month. Stopping at Keylong for the night. This is my second trip to Ladakh , the first one was via Srinagar and we couldnt do Leh-Manali then as the road was not opened. This time planning to do Manali-Leh for both onward and return journey. I am reaching Keylong directly from Swarghat. Can I proceed to Leh next day? or would it be better to stay at Keylong for one more night?

    Hello Sir Your videos are very informative. Me and my husband are planning to visit Leh from 1st July till 8th July, covering Leh-Lamayuru and Moonland- Nubra- Siachen Base Camp - Pangong - Hanle - Leh Below is our tentative itinerary Day 1: Arrival in Leh Day 2: Leh to Lamayrur and back to Leh + Leh Local Sightseeing Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley Day 4: Nubra Valley to Siachen via Panamik Hot Spring Day 5: Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso Day 6: Pangong to Hanle Day 7: Return to Leh from Hanle Day 8: Return to Delhi I have a few questions : 1. Are there any changes to the itinerary you would recommend? 2. Is there sufficient acclimatisation in Leh (approx 2 days as Layamuru is at a lower altitude than Leh) 3. Since we plan to visit Siachen Base Camp and stay 1 night in Hanle, do we need oxygen cylinder? If yes, what capacity is generally sufficient? Any other feedback is welcomed.

  • @discoverwithdheeraj

    @discoverwithdheeraj

    Here are my inputs Better stick to just Sham Valley on Day 2, Lamayuru will be stretching too much. Instead of Siachen base camp I will suggest you opt for Turtuk.. better in terms of views and time spent. Rest looks good. Regarding acclimatization, just dont exert for first few days and ensure well hydration

    Thank you for your excellent advice.We r planning to visit Leh during lst week of September. Re AMS we r very worried coming from a tropical country. Is it safe for a person who already suffers motion sickness will be more likely to suffer AMS

  • @discoverwithdheeraj

    @discoverwithdheeraj

    Жыл бұрын

    Well, there is no co-relation Jyotsna between AMS and Motion Sickness.. However, one should not confuse between too and ignore any signs. If you are hit with motion sickenss, then you may loose water with vomits which makes you dehydrated that increases the chances of AMS then... that's how you can say they may be related. For Motion Sickness, there are medicines that are available which you can take after consulting your doctor. My wife uses accupuncture bands/sea bands which helped her a lot with motion sickness.. but it helps some and doesn't help some. Worth a try locally I will say for motion sickness. Again take medicine from doctor for motion sickness and try to sit in front seats of the car, don't use screen/phone when riding.. Now for AMS I have shared lot of tips in the video itself.
