I don’t think they ever would, because people would expect full fidelity. And to release a paid mod for DCS that’s what the requirement is, too. Obviously, with an F35, full fidelity is not going to happen, but the MSFS limitations are quite severe - the STOVL system could be implemented much better in DCS, DAS would be the real life 360 degree IRST with HMD FLIR, the SAR would be an actual synthetic aperture radar, in short it would be a million times better. The F-35 mod for DCS that currently exists just doesn’t really do either the plane or the sim justice. It’s a shame because I used to play MSFS a lot, coming from FSX with the VRS Tacpack equipped F35, but since discovering DCS it’s another level. Now I look back at the F35 in MSFS and wish it wasn’t so hamstrung by the sim. Mind you, I can’t buzz my own house at Mach 1.6 in DCS…

@@radomirwozniak4959 The idea that stealth means it’s impossible to see on radar is a myth. Get close enough and it will start showing up. The idea is to reduce detection range as much as possible to gain an advantage.

Loving this aircraft and the big update. Having bought quite a few over the past year or so this feels like the first one that actually was worth paying for and gives good value

Can you do a video on normal landings in the F35, covering using different states of the FBW system? According to the manual there is a FBW mode transition at 50ft if you have the FBW system on, or you can use the flap lever to turn it off. Would be interesting to see the differences in techniques needed for landing (and reference speeds) especially being prepared for the FBW mode change at 50ft if you are in auto mode.

I wasn’t aware the FBW could be switched off! I’ll have to take a peak. I was aware that there’s a bug in the FBW that causes a loss of control from 50ft. Real pain! The landing techniques would largely follow on of the methods in my land any jet video 👍🏻

I doubt it. The sim isn’t designed for too many funky things. That’s why the DAS (which is the 360 viewer) is just a top down camera.

Flaps are automatic though I believe there’s an override with the fly by wire modelling if you select modelling. Airbrake is the keybind for Airbrake or maybe spoilers. Airbrake is the inward movement of the rudders, not a board that comes up. Hope that helps

I don’t have an Xbox so largely it’s whichever one looks nicest on the marketplace I presume? Indiafoxtecho ones should be good but not sure how function they are. Seafront simulations I think have an LHA in their Hawaii scenery and it may move but again, not sure how functional it is.

@@cgaviator I ended up buying a carrier set that is pretty hidden in the Marketplace. If you buy the plane/helicopter KA 10M, it comes with four ‘Kuznetsov’ carriers. Three of them move, the other static, and all planes with a hook work on them (and the option for all other planes too). It was just over £5, worth checking out for anyone looking for carrier, I’m having a great time with them (on Xbox!). Search in the MFS forum, there is good support for them too.

What are the FPS like with this aircraft? I bought another modern jet (different developer) and it's impossible to fly in VR, half the framerates of any other MSFS aircraft. My favorite jet is the Hawk T1. It's so alive and perfect, amazing sound and best FPS in the sim for some reason.

Hawk is good because there’s no glass cockpit, just steam gauges. I don’t measure frames but I get on fine with this

Question is, with a bit of work, could this potentially be migrated to DCS as a semi-formal fidelity module (obviously a full-fidelity ain't happening) but with a few tweaks to bring it up to DCS standard - would people buy it?

This can't be migrated, DCS and MSFS are completely different beasts, but there _is_ a team working on the F-35B for DCS

I fly the F35B in Meta VR the fuel boom is by the cockpit right. It looks so real like I can hold it like in the bathroom lol I can’t seem to get weapons appear on the pylons

The few problems I have with this model is that the sonic boom is ridiculously loud and the cockpit is very noisy too, also I've noticed that sometimes the plane is very shaky, the Xbox version has less liveries and no armament ,everything else is very high quality.

Good question. And my guess would be that letting go of the yoke makes the input zero, just like letting go of the stick. So the attitude should stay where you left it when you let go. Hope that makes sense.

It displays the optimum airspeed in Mach for the best range or endurance at your current altitude, and it shows the optimum altitude and speed for range or endurance. I've found it on the f/a-18, f-16, and the f-22 has something that functions in the same way.

MSFS has a lot of issues with flight dynamics. Particularly the g limit and buffer onset. The FBW is very poorly implemented but I think it’s the best the developer can do

Depends what you mean by a combat sortie? You can do everything bar releasing a weapon. Actually, on the H145 and the G91 you can actually release weapons. But it’s certainly no DCS

Hi I bought msfs standard version on steam and now I'm installing it about 150gb, then I want to install the F -35 the problem is on Steam I can't find it, if I buy it on the Microsoft marketplace the weapons don't work if I understand correctly, so purchase on Simmarket then for the installation how to proceed? I’m not familiar with the steam version. I presume that there’s still a community folder? You’d have to buy it again to get the weapons. You should be able to buy from simmarket or Orbx and follow the installation. But I can’t really advise as I don’t have the steam version.

@@ivo5581 the only benefit you get is that you ‘see’ the weapons. In this model they don’t release. In the G91 and H145 they actually drop or fire their weapons in a very basic manner

It has a TSD- tactical situation display. Most like Link 16. See targets, select them for interrogation of altitude and speed. Not radar

For some reason my jet (got it from a 3rd party site) does not show the weapons, it only shows the hardpoints😕

I really want to like IFTE, but they have struggled to optimize their products for Xbox and seem to believe every flight simmer needs to have a mouse plugged in even though it can cause issues on Xbox. For ex. the MB339 was lovely, but a recent Xbox update doesn’t allow the generators to turn on and IFTE has blamed MS/Asobo even though this was not associated with a sim update.

That’s the trouble when MS brings what was a PC game to Xbox and all the developers work to PC standards but the Xbox has its limits. Opinion only I guess. They do appear to have been working hard to optimise. But I also thought the updates had been breaking various things along the way.

@@cgaviator Perhaps, but MS, Asobo, and 3rd party devs seem to be enjoying the paycheck from Xbox customers. Some devs have worked really hard to bring excellent products to Xbox with little to no sacrifice (Flying Iron, SWS, FSW, etc.) Perhaps IFTE just needs more time as the T45 would just CTD for a long time.

@@cgaviator I think you misunderstood. There is a quality gap between PC and Xbox, yet we all pay the same. Some developers have figured out how to close that gap. I wasn’t talking about effort or motivation. I know the community put a lot of pressure on IFTE to make the F-35 just work on Xbox. I haven’t tested it but was glad to see the MB-339 Gen issue is addressed in patch notes released today.

I’ve just purchased this for MSFS through the XBox…..I have to say that my first impression is really not very good. It looks the part, definitely, but I find it’s performance sadly lacking; like struggling to reach Mach 1 at low level with full reheat and a ‘clean’ airframe. Please tell me I’m overlooking something 🤞🏼

Are you using afterburner? It needs to be toggled on to enable it.

Affirm, afterburner is lit up. Once airborne, if I set max throttle (minus afterburner), it’ll cruise along at Mach 0.97, but it’ll not exceed that unless I hit reheat. I must admit that I’m enjoying it a little more than yesterday, I was just hoping for better performance. Of the fast jets I’ve purchased, it’s a far cry from Top Mach Studios’ F22, CJ Simulations’ Typhoon & Rafale, and the Deimos Inc Griffin.

Bought the Harrier, absolute bug fest and terrible developer attitude, got a refund and bought this aircraft and absolutely loving it

What bugs did you find? I had a beta version and it seemed ok. Anyhow, you’ll love the F35

I couldn’t get the DAS/ASR/TFLIR imagery to work on Xbox. Did it work for anyone else?

Noob here; how can I select the weapons on xbox with a mouse? I can open the doors but I cannot select a loadout. Can someone help me?

I’m afraid, no weapons on Xbox! Microsoft don’t like weapons in game so anything bought from marketplace has them removed. If you had PC and bout from outside of marketplace you’d have the weapons.

The only thing Dino forgot to implement is a damn Moving GPS Map! The only thing worh using for MSFS in this Pretend Fighter.

Hmmm… I presume the real one has a moving map? Seems like an obvious question but sometimes the airforces leave out the obvious! 😂

@@cgaviator Well, what do you think :) And I am pretty sure it's a joy to use with the huge touchscreen. Would have bveen nice of Dino to think about THAT first before he implements FLIR, TDS etc. Would have been even easyer to do it in FSX/P3D. Even if he has no clue how the real MAP in the F-35 works, he could have implemented his own idea and made us happy (because we even have less of an idea) :( Just a feature that would have been NICE TO HAVE!

My thought exactly! If you can see through the floor and have all this sensor fusion I guarantee there's a moving map. Probably a ton in nice navigation stuff too and I really wish IFTE would have built something in.

Is there a free version ?

sorry for the late reply, I've been away. I think there may be a mod for DCS, but any free version will be very sub par in comparison

You bought it from marketplace? Microsoft don’t allow weapons in the models they sell. If you’re a PC user, indiafoxtecho are working on a weapon pack to re introduce them back.

It feels more like toy than anything else... Not sure Im so found of it. Got it several month ago. Not sure why I should fly it. Is it near the real thing at all?

Very few of the military jets modelled in the sim feel like they fly realistically. But overall this is one of the better ones for being unique and being able to hover. The hover dynamics are very ‘off’ but that’s a sim limitation. I like the uniqueness and the way it looks

For things you can download from places like flightsim .to you simply unzip to the community folder and it should appear in game once you restart MSFS

@@cgaviator Thank you man, I appreciate it very much and I am trying it out right now! Also, do you know if MSFS will run over night if I just put it on autopilot, or will it shut down automatically after no imput or buttons are pressed for a certain amount of time?

@@bloxiestentertainment which mod are you trying? MSFS should run forever subject to their server staying online and something not randomly making the program crash.

@@cgaviator My bad, but I am unzipping mods into the community folder, but when I go into the sim, it’s not there, but when I go to content manager inside the sim, it shows it there, but it won’t download onto the actual sim, nor will it let me use it.

I heard that this aircraft can take off and land Itself by a click of a button is this something that is IRL

This model features an auto takeoff function for those that want it. I know they use speed hold functions in the real aircraft. But the pilot still has to do stuff 😅

@@cgaviator yeah it's similar to a speed hold but also keeps the aircraft stabilized and automatically does Corrections don't know if this is something that is really in use irl

@@cgaviator I guess it's possible to do on a jet like the F-35. For instance a lot of rockets and space capsules use similar automations inflight without a person onboard

@@brianv1988 I don’t think has sufficient automations to take over from the pilot. I think the Tempest will if and when that gets built!

i thought every F35A has a fuelprobe if the customer wants it
