Climate change is very evident in Germany in Austria. For some reason, the warming effect is stronger than average here, which definitely affects snow and winter sports and tourism in the mountains. It's interesting that despite this effect in Europe, and the rising of the global average, there are some regions that experience a local cooling effect, particularly areas that are a long way away from the ocean, which makes those who live in such areas deny that it's happening. But in Austria and Germany it's very noticeable.
@Flareontoast
3 күн бұрын
@kathilisi3019 interesting to learn that it's less evident in other places! I'm almost 30 now and I do still remember super snowy winters, bringing a sled to the park and sledding down smalls hills, even in the city, when I was in elementary school. The past years it's mostly been around 14C on Christmas. It does snow more in the rural areas and especially the mountains but boy is our tourism slowly affected by the warming...

Very fun video! When I am in the US I miss licorice. The Twizzlers are only a faint remembrance of it. And of late I miss decent food. The fast food outlets are becoming more annoying. The quality really sucks. On my last trip I made it a point to visit a Chipotle for the first time. I was not impressed. Another item I miss occasionally is a good cake. Once I have a craving for Kuchen I find myself persuaded by the nice looks of what is at the bakery section. But traditional cake, as in Torte, never makes the taste test and I throw it away after some bites. Cookies are another thing which is okay.
US: Konsum, all the time everywhere!
THE BREAD!
So! Böse Uhr! Have to stop. Now it's time to be hungry...😂 It's in us, it's genetic.🤷
McD’s has different market strategies. In the US they want to be cheap and consistent across 50 states, which is possible with large scales and low wages. Germany/Austria/Switzerland are all smaller markets with higher wages/cost of labor, so they can’t compete on price like in the US but they can compete on quality and novelty. I also only go to McD’s in Europe. In the US it’s trash and I am happy to pay 2x or 3x to go anywhere else.

3:45 the pizza in italy is better than the ones in germany. The ones in the netherlands are way to salty and probably the dough is cheap so created with all kinds of products that does make the dough be usable fast..
I can't believe he didn't mention bread and pastries!
@HayleyAlexis
Ай бұрын
Mike didn't eat too many pastries or too much bread in Germany... He ate his "toast" which is very similar to US bread and that was it.
I don't know if it is the strict food standards. I am from Asia, living in Germany and have visited US quite often. Somehow, US McDonald's is really bad. Even in Asia, where the food standards are definitely not US level, the McDonald's has much more variety and tastes better, like a restaurant level.
I was born and raised in Germany but have lived in Florida for 40 years. I hate rechts vor links when I drive in Germany........so annoying! Haley, you are more German than Mike. Yes, of course Bretzen and the really good Salami you can't get here. Thanks for sharing. Great video!
Maybe a Tiki Bar of sorts would suit Mike where he can sit underneath an old palm tree? Or maybe this is just a cliche?
I don't want to sound unkind, but during my time in the US, I really missed that subconscious good feeling that no one was carrying a gun. Hearing gunshots at night, even during the day, and seeing the police shooting in the middle of the street is pretty scary for a German.
I never tasted a difference between German and Swiss McDonald's. The only thing I noticed the price and I didnt have an upset stomach afterwards. I also noticed their french fries were for shit in Germany and Switzerland.
A large Pizza in the US is much bigger than a Large in Germany and is still cheaper. I Get one for 12-14 Dollars. Depends obviously where you go, but its cheaper in the US. You pay at least 16€ in Germany for a Large Pizza.

@HayleyAlexis
Ай бұрын
That is very interesting.. What do you like about the US pizza??
@ssergium.4520
Ай бұрын
@@HayleyAlexis I have to admit that I haven’t tried many types of pizza in the US, but the ones I did were very good and more flavorful… or maybe it was the Ranch I dipped it into. I am originally from Romania and we spread garlic sauce on pizzas, so dipping it into ranch was just heavenly for me. I believe the issue is me living in Duisburg, NRW. There really aren’t that great Italian pizza places in my area, so maybe I am biased. I do remember eating a good pizza in Würzburg so maybe I just have to go further south for better pizza. 😅 I didn’t really eat much pizza because there were better things to eat like Mexican food, American Asian food, chicken on waffles, mac and cheese… oh God… Hmm 🤔 My boyfriend asked me if I wanted to go to the U.S. for Christmas again and I think the food alone is enough to convince me fly for like 12 hours 🤣
For my point of view you can`t compare the climate in Germany with the USA esp. Florida. If you want to compare, than Main ore Nova Scotia with Germany. Florida is like Morocco ore other parts of north Africa.
I didn’t get much right, except that Mike might miss the mountains. I myself don’t like Italian pizza, and that’s pretty much all you get in Germany - and there’s simply not enough stuff on it and too much dough. Pizza Margarita? It’s cardboard with tomato sauce and a bit of cheese … I do miss real American pizza, just loaded with the classic toppings: ham, mushrooms, pepperoni, lots of cheese. You’re adorable together. Bye the way, my husband and I always switch back and forth between English and German, in mid sentence.
Does Mike live in the U.S. now or just visiting? Enjoy watching you guys!

Jack In the Box has died in the majority of the US. In and Out is a California place. It spread to Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah. What's Carl Jr,'s and Fatburger? Five Guys is overrated crap and ridiculously expensive. I'll go to Cheddars to get a burger thats $2 less and it'll be 10 times better. The food is fresh ingredients made from scratch.
