Here we discover what are the signs of a highly sensitive person? How do you know if you’re a highly sensitive person (HSP) or an empath (someone who FEELS more than other people). How can we assess these concepts in an objective and critical way, rather than falling for woo-woo? This covers all!

I feel like if this video were written by an actual sensitive person (or surveyed them), it would have gone much more differently by highlighting their strengths and using realistic examples of their worries. Sensitive people aren't always immature or irrational as this video portrays. Their brain is wired differently mostly from their upbringing and life experiences (especially a chaotic home environment or broken relationships). There are some special abilities that come along naturally as being sensitive: 1. Emotional intelligence This is the proper term for a "highly sensitive" person. The ability to understand emotions beneath the words, actions, and environments of others. There is a great value for this trait in society and we often desire to help those who are hurting. 2. Attention to detail. Surprisingly, this looks a little different from one person to another. Some people remember bits of information they read, while others remember conversations, faces, smells, nail colors, room arrangements, or other fine details. It may not be the entire memory, but little things just randomly stand out to us. 3. Prediction. The "worry" part of our brains are actually logically planning ahead like a game of chess, considering multiple realistic possibilities and how we might respond to them. No, the projector won't catch fire, but the internet might stop working for a video, or the Powerpoint file can be corrupt. Unless we're sure of a friendship, we might worry if the person dislikes us, but even otherwise we still try to be careful in not losing someone so valuable. If a boss calls us in, we automatically assume it's some sort of complaint or correction, because it's more likely than having a bottle of champagne for clocking in late. 4. Consistency. The strange part of being a highly sensitive people pleaser is that we don't feel pressured to completely change our personality, and people take value in that. Got a problem? We'll listen and may help you find a practical solution. Stressed out? We're the same kind of person with the same values that we were 10 years ago. We're the most loyal of friends you can find. 5. Real, genuine empathy. We hate, "Hi how are you?" as a casual greeting. We want someone who will REALLY listen, and want them to know that we're here for them too. We care about a lot of people, and it fills our cup of joy every week when someone stops to listen because they want to and care. Then we go and share that same phenomena with others by filling their cup. I don't know who else can relate to this, but being yourself is the absolute best thing you can do for someone else! Even if you randomly cry as often as I do, it's healthy for the soul! 😊

Absolutely true. Every point is perfectly explained. In this video they showed sensitive people love drama? Biggest false. Being a sensitive person I know we don't love drama happening around us.😪😪
Feeling too intensely is usually considered a weakness but if you learn how to manage it, it becomes an amazing gift. It makes you feel more alive.

Because of this : 1) it's still not mass psychology as it is nowadays not even really existing and it's because it is pseudoscience and knowledge that we're all alike yet different from each other therefore I would also conclude that the information provided by many is just something that could be recognized by the people who ARE, this isn't always the case because of another way, So 2) some of us aren't fully aware of the I, Me too! Even if you would know that you are 3) NO, this isn't the case for all of hspeople to say like yeah I'm like that, some overlapping might suggest already enough to make it easier for people to recognize that, also I would be like it was good but it's not a complete diagnosis ofcourse and some mentioned things that you could find anywhere online were all too often for the hsp who is just in any earlier stage/younger spirit and did not apply for me personally either, Last but not least I am interested in the experience of this you'd really have(I am also diagnosed with this, yet I am not really fitting in the picture and it's my bet it is because I am also diagnosed as an empowered empath and if you were already just empath and it's now empowered empath here is just such big difference between the two diagnosis of this isn't it that you might be also an( empowered) empath?
3:54 this is ridiculous. A highly sensitive person would never do that, because they do mind what other people feel or think, and so this would just be so selfish. Also not every hsp is so negative. It‘s much harder to live a happy life - true, but this is exaggerated. So i can say many things are true in this video, but many also aren‘t.

sensitivity amd negativity aint the same. and perfectionism is close many times to negativity but further from sensitivity,
Watching this video made me anxious and gave me a panic attack.
Sounds like introverts are highly sensitive then
Great video! This is helpful information.
Hey Your content is the best, it is very educational. You inspired me to start my own channel. Thank you
This is very accurate! Thank you for confirming so much about this trait. ✨
Thanks dude this video helped me a lot ..
To all super young sensitive people, don't worry, it gets better. You won't live at home forever. You won't be in that school or at that job, forever. One day that email won't take so long to write. One day you'll know how to protect your alone time, and who to avoid.
HSP = OVERTHINKING 🤯
1. Lifelong jump-scares 2. Recharging in silence 3. The perfect e-mail 4. Beating yourself up 5. Searching for drama 6. Physical emotions 7. Unnecessary tension 8. All the options 9. A lonely lunch 10. Everything thinks personal 11. Social Awkwardness 12. Comfort anxiety
does anyone else feel 2 emotions at once. Like sometimes I'm so angry at someone and I want to punch them but at the same time I'm crying because of what happened?

You probably need Correspondance. I aced it once I was out of the classroom. In school the lights were too bright for me to see properly. I couldn't stand being surrounded by others. The colors were green and depressing. The smells were just awful. I hated the teachers and they hated me. There are countless reasons why smart people do poorly in school. Some people even though they've studied and know the material perfectly fail tests simply due to exam anxiety.I can't learn in the classroom, I need to be comfortable and relaxed. Once I was out of it I got terrific marks. Another reason correspondence works so well is that you never meet the teacher. They never have the chance to hate you for whatever reason. You're invisible.
What is the difference between anxiety and hsp?
People always tell me “Wow. I wish I could be like you. You’re so cool!” And I’m like man it’s not easy 😂😂😂

I am a HSP who is easily startled but it’s not because I worry about almost everything. You mention this in almost all of your points and imply that worrying is the root cause. And characterizing a “15 minute rant” “unnecessary tension”. “Stressed out all the time” “your stress is unwarranted and unnesaary” is starting to sound like the writer is a frustrated partner of an HSP who wishes we’d all just “calm down” the narrator sounds more judgemental than understanding. The first complement or positive characterization is in point 8 where you complement the empathy. I just can’t listen to it anymore.
Guys can you put time stamps?
I find this video to be incredibly misleading. For one, most of your resources are of the psychology version of Buzzfeed, not reputable research journals. More importantly, the explanation of many of the "signs" is not based on the research or Dr. Aron's book, but the creator's assumption. Lastly, some of the signs are blatantly incorrect. HSPs don't seek drama, they avoid it because its overly stimulating and negative. Research has shown that some HSPs actually work very well with others because their need to keep everyone happy makes for a good mediator.
This put a smile on my face. 😂
People don’t know they are dealing with a highly sensitive person. I can recall information in a vivid detail. I ask questions and reflect on them so much. Sounds like I have a little of everything but I am strongly in the intellectual highly sensitive person. I am a such an Empath.
This is by far the most relatable video about HSPs!!!
Literally answered yes to every question....
Dude, i am at the email one, like i need to send email to my filipino teacher and keeps silent but my brain keeps running on what do i type on the email.
um...does crying by your self and saying bad thing's to my self count has one i already know i am one but i do that......i think non stop....i even have to think to walk....so..........is that a big problem ? because i feel like it is........

Why are you being so sensitive? 😏
This signs match with introverts, ptsd and borderline. It could be anything.
This video is ridiculous. It’s totally de-valuinng the important role HSPs have in our society. You are highlighting the VERY few weaknesses of HSPs and enlarging/exagerating them to a huge fake level. If this video were done by a HSP, it would highlight correct and more valuable information than just ranting about why HSPs suck. I’m a HSP and none of those points are true, trust me. Maybe a bit more research should’ve been done before providing the wrong information to thousands of people. Or even worse, giving HSPs like me anxiety because of how bad you’ve highlighted their emotions to be.

I am a HSP person, but find this video very hilarious; it put a smile on my face. Yes, it takes it to the extreme but in a funny way. 😊
I'm kinda sensitive person 😉
I jump at loud sneezing and coughs... Guessing it also makes me feel highly sensitive to small continued sounds (d@mn those clacking keyboards, and gum smacking!)
So basically all introverts are sensitive people? Got it.

Just a humble opinion: As a sensitive person, even though I like the voice of the guy narrating this video, I would have preferred a much softer much quieter soothing voice. If the video is intended for extroverted loud people they chose the perfect narrator
💗
i’m sensitive
I bet TopThink narrator has a sensitive side. 🤨🤨 For example, did I get my message across in this video. Did I get enough “Likes” in this video. 👍
This is me ❤️
I don't think #1 is right. Everyone gets startled by jump scares or things that go bump in the night. LOL. And I don't fear making mistakes. I mind carelessness that lead to the mistakes.
Me at 10, 11 and 12.
This video lacks the thoughtfulness and research as presented by the world’s expert Dr Elaine Aron. Instead of presenting SPS folk as extreme, the understanding is of responses to life that are more cautious (deeper processing) or mindful rather than extreme and irrational. The research has shown that 30% of HSP / SPS are extraverts and seek out people as well as wanting to be super supportive ~ unlike the last trait(12) suggests.
This is PTSD. The person's nerves are totally shot. They're reacting physically to the environment around them. I know. I was a totally outgoing person before life and God himself showed me how much I was hated. Now I'm the person in the video.
Awe that headak part is the worst i have lost soo much hair by stressin😖
Hi it was 10 months ago that vid my other account is i joined in 10 months ago
Some of this stuff isnt true
I am sensitive person yayy
This doesn’t really resonates with Extroverted HSPs like me. Some points does, while others don’t and it makes people like me believe they’re not HSPs while in fact, we are. We’re just 30% of the 20% HSP population, but that doesn’t mean that we’re not HSPs. I think people should take care while make these videos and be more aware about the public whose gonna watch it
I'm only slightly sensitive.😔 Mostly insensitive.😎
12/12
I feel like everyone have those problems 💁🏻♂️
Hsp = infj
I cry when ever a sad song comes on. Like drippy_bryan ☠️Bryan☠️ on tiktok
Perfection = Enlightenment. Dafuq.
Hey everyone..theres that jerky voice!!!..WHERE THE FUNK IS PETER?????😩😩😩😩😩😩
And I wanna do business☠️
Well, non of these apply to me 😂
I definitely prefer to work by myself! Nice quiet office days. But I do NOT like eating alone! I don’t know how sensitive I am, per se, though. I don’t think it’s a scientific concept. I DO suffer from anxiety. I used to write emails very quickly but now I take a minute or two more to work on my tone and see what I want to convey. Also my chest turns red during stressful moments.
Warning: This video is not 100% accurate.
This video is way off… wow.
Very helpful, I am definitely a HSP
A bit too much. I am HSP, but some of these are ridiculous.
lol did we all become HSP!!
After watching this video -> i hate myself
Man, why did y'all have to make the black guy eat fried chicken 😒
A bit exaggerated, don't you think?
I suspect strongly that this video was made by a non sensitive person...and perhaps by a narcissist. The video is not accurate for one.
why does this sound like a bully made this with the sarcastic voice as the extra stab?!! 😖
I’m sensitive cause of spanking
This is biggest load of crap I’ve ever seen. It’s not consistent with research on HSP. It’s consistent with a lay person’s stereotypes and I expected more from a channel that claims to provide accurate psychological content. Perhaps if the creators spent as much time on content as they did on animation perhaps it would improve. HSP are deep thinkers who are more perceptive than average people and they are not weak and neurotic as this video suggest.
why i feel offended by this

Nope nope nope nope
This is extremely condescending.
