12 Secrets Only Pomeranian Dog Owners Know
Hello and welcome to our KZread channel! Today we're going to talk about Pomeranians, these fluffy and energetic little creatures with big personalities. Made famous by Queen Victoria, this breed is known to be modest and smart for its size. Pomeranians can easily fit into any type of home, but do they get along with all types of families? In this video, we're going to discuss 12 things that only Pomeranian dog owners understand.
Number 1.
Pomeranians are not impressed by expensive toys. As an owner, you may want to spoil your furry friend with the latest and greatest, but don't be surprised if they prefer to play with your socks or a basic ball for hours. They may even completely ignore those fancy toys you just purchased for them.
Number 2.
Be prepared for snuggles. Pomeranians have many ways of showing you they love you, and one of them is cuddling. They'll lay on your head while you sleep, rest their body on your feet, or plop down right in front of you. These cute gestures are sure to melt your heart.
Number3.
Pomeranians are best suited for older children. With their small size, it's easy to assume that Pomeranians are suitable for all family types. However, this is not the case for this breed. Pomeranians can easily be injured by smaller children who don't know how to play with dogs yet. Additionally, Pomeranians are proud creatures who may lash out if they feel hurt or threatened. For this reason, Pomeranians would do best in families with older children, around 10 years old and up. It's important for children to be taught how to properly handle and play with Pomeranians to avoid any negative interactions. However, if you're determined to have a Pomeranian even if you have younger children, make sure all interactions between the dog and children are supervised.
Number 4.
Grooming a Pomeranian can be challenging. Pomeranians have thick fur, which tends to form knots and tangles, especially when their owners are not able to maintain their coat. Brushing or cutting their knots may be difficult and even painful for them. If you don't have the time to maintain their hair, it's best to at least get them regular grooming services to keep their hair healthy. If you think you're unable to keep up with the grooming maintenance, it's best to consider another dog breed that would better suit your lifestyle.
