Description of Ford Mustang "The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from April 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators. It was initially introduced as a hardtop and convertible with the fastback version put on sale the following year. At the time of its introduction, the Mustang, sharing its underpinnings with the Falcon, was slotted into a compact car segment.” .

I graduated high school in 1972. One afternoon in the fall of 1971 I came home from school and what should be parked in the driveway? A new 1972 Torino Sport. I almost fainted. My Dad was good at surprises.

Nice to see commercials from a time when the companies weren't lecturing you on the supposed issues of the day. Anyway, sometime in the early 70s I remember that my parents were in between cars and had to rent one for a short while. The one they rented was a 1970 Mercury Cougar, which was similar to Mustang in those days. I don't remember the car itself though, just the fact that they had rented it. Otherwise my parents never owned a FoMoCo product. But now I appreciate all older cars, and the ads for them.

The 68-69 t-bird was sweet.1970 had that ugly nose. I had a 69 428 offset. It was so beautiful. The rear seat was huge and had brushed aluminum trim. I used to take late-night dates and use it....☻

In 1985 I bought a car to drive to high school for $700.00. My 1970 Country Squire had just 32,000 miles, today....I still own it. It now has 79,000 miles. I just cannot part with the Dragon Wagon

6:52-7:16 What song is that? It sounds very dated, but very retro-cool. Kind of has a "Let the Sun Shine In" (by the 5th Dimension) feel to it. Tried to learn the chord changes by ear on the piano this morning. Best I could come up with in the first phrasing was: Bsus4... B, E, A, C, G, D-F#-Bsus4 (Detuned a 1/4 tone (Concert A = 450 Hz. You're not going to be able to play this on an instrument that can't digitally detune off of A440, because it's played between the keys in the video). Cool riff on piano to hum along & harmonize with.

Cool ads. Their cars were cool then. There's more competition now. I didn't get to drive one of these cars. My first car was a 93 Escort. Not one of Ford's best. I bought a Honda Civic last year. I'm glad I turned Japanese with cars.
