Jesus said to not pray rote prayers. Jesus said to not worship him as the pagans do. God is our Father. Would you formulate and endlessly repeat conversations with your Dad ? Especially when he already told you it angers him ?

@@richardclark4692 idolatry is when you think the things are actually God, this is not the case mam.

We've moved four times and had our homes blessed each time. We too have a crucifix in every room - at all the entrances and over every bed. I love that you display the image of Divine Mercy. My mother taught us the importance of that thirty years ago, only recently have I seen it displayed in churches. I have never heard of bringing the Bible outside and back into the house every month... everything else you spoke of we have. We also had a book of saints for children in the home I grew up in that my mother encouraged us to read. I had one for my children. They each had their favorite saints. I remember the priest who blessed the home we are in now saying it was important that we could be "convicted" of being Catholic just by someone walking into our home. God bless you for sharing and encouraging Catholics to be "convicted".

@@helenbond8893 All of the Roman Catholic/Orthodox Catholic church is nothing but Hindu influenced theology. Even the rosary is hindu in origin. BIBLE ALONE people and you sure as hell wont see prayers to Mary, rosaries, candles, blessed images in the bible (anyone even bother to remember the 2nd commandment?)

However, in parts of the world where Hinduism is the dominant religion, thus meaning Hinduism has had a great influence upon the culture, then we witness peoples expression of their Christianity being influenced by their cultural norm, such as in the case of this video, where Hindu culture is sadly influenicing someones expresion of faith. If i go to Jesus, will he not answer my prayers. I am sure, i believe my Lord will change everything according to his will.

I love rosaries too. But I have two cats that think they are a toy so I keep them in a box unless I am praying them. I keep one at my bedside table so I can reach for it in the dark. Bless you and your family.

Of all the sacramentals that you’ve mentioned, holy salt is the only sacramental that I do not have in my home but that can be easily rectified. As a 70 year old grandmother it is such a joy to see your love and passion for God which is very much lacking with the present generation. Thank you for the very good info. I, too, live in a town house, and use the mantle over the fireplace and the wall behind it as my altar. I also have a small Holy Water font near my front door. I attend a TLM (Traditional Latin Mass) church and, every year, around Epiphany, they have a special Mass to bless the Epiphany water- We are allowed to bring up to one gallon and set it near the altar.

One practical point. If you are in a situation where you don't have a lot of space for a home altar, you can still hang images of our Lord and His Blessed Mother on the wall. This is a lot better than nothing if you are in a dorm room, for example.

4:13 blessed palms are very common in the Philippines we call it palaspas but they're bigger and have designs tho like 12 inches+ it's used in palm sunday. It's then burned the day before ash Wednesday just like you said, sometimes they have pictures of saints and jesus

I really appreciate you woman of God for coming out with many things about Roman Catholis. Ah i would like say rather going through only prayer books, you pray to God to give strength, pray to Lord Jesus to give you grace, pray to Holy Spirit to give you words on your mouth, so shall you pray without looking to the available prayer books. Prayer should come out from your heart, donot mugup. Pray in Spirit. I apologize to you if anything hurts you. I too Catholics. I follow Gods doctrine. Which is Spiritual. You cant find everything in Bible. Spiritual and Biblical are different. Spiritual and Charismatic Father are seen in Retreat Centers. Thanks and God bless you abundantly. See i am no one to correct, no one to judge. But see our Church is not a Bible reading church. Because of this many are not believer, they are lack of Word of God, very low in Bible, cant even open Bible, dont know which verse is written in where, they are just sunday christians. Its is very easy and one feel very proud to called christian, but cant say beliver. Where Jesus said be Christian and see my miracles. Instead He said if you believe, you will see my miracles.
