I think it was used right when Germany Delacred war on Poland so definitely scary. Imagine living in Poland during that exact moment.

I love how most of these invoke more of a creepy unsettling sense of urgency or fear in a more subtle way. Some stronger than others then there's Zambia who goes the complete opposite signaling the immediate end of the universe via exploding infinite quasars in 5 minutes in the loudest most chaotic way possible

In Brazil it’s not the sound thats scary, it’s that Brazil is a very safe place from most natural disasters or storms like that, so if you hear the EAS alarm in Brazil, it’s something SERIOUS.

I don't why did i dropped tears when i heard the eas alarm of south Korea in the 1950.

South Korea (1950) sounds like there is a robot in my house about to kill me or smthn lol

A lot of these just sound like normal severe weather alert sirens found throughout the U.S. Here in Washington State, and most of the west coast, we have them in areas susceptible to volcanic eruptions, (more specifically, lahars, or hot mud flows from melting glaciers in the case of an eruption, for low-lying areas) and areas near the Pacific Ocean susceptible to tsunamis due to us being in an earthquake-prone region. In a lot of the Midwest and Great Plains states, they use them for tornadoes, and they also see some use in the Southeast for hurricanes. These, I feel, are less noticeable due to them being a bit more of a commonly used sound. The super unique ones that get your attention quickly (like the recordings of Canada, Zambia, shown here) are undeniably better systems.
