    I would highly recommend people to bring an umbrella with UPF! We brought ours from Coolibar, and you don’t know how many times we repeatedly said how grateful we were of bringing it. While everyone was sweating and getting sunburned, we were cool as a cucumber. A regular umbrella won’t work for the sun because you can feel the heat go through the fabric of the umbrella. It gets steamy underneath. Not with a 50+ UPF umbrella! We were saving our spots for the parade for an hour, and we were not sweating at all. My husband even took a nap, and he really can’t withstand heat at all. We also wore UPF clothing from Coolibar, and that kept us really cool and protected from the sun. I promise this is not a Coolibar ad. 😂 They’re really awesome though.

    So the virtual queue is only being used for World of Color at the moment. They dropped it on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway pretty quickly. If you intend to go to World of Color, at noon on the day you go you’ll need to join the virtual queue from the Disneyland app. It’s right there on the home page and really simple to do. Amendment: it looks like Rogers the Musical will be on there too.

    Exactly. I also found myself needing a pen earlier that day to mark up my Food and Wine passport with items I wanted. But I assumed most folks probably carried pens (had my wife been with me, she would have had one. We got stuck in different parks to start because of what was available for reservations) so didn’t include it in the video.

    You’ll definitely need it in June. The temperature may be good most of the day, but June around here is something called “June Gloom” meaning that there’s a thick cloud cover that will hang around most every day until Noon. There’s potential for June to be hot, but it could also have some brisk mornings.

    I recently went on a Disneyland trip with two other families and various members wanted to go on Splash Mountain for a farewell ride, but no one wanted to deal with wet shoes and socks. I was prepared though and had packed dollar ponchos and flip flops in a plastic grocery bag for me and my daughter in my park bag. We got on the ride, threw away the ponchos after we got off, and changed back into our regular shoes and socks and continued on our day (the park bag stayed dry thanks to a non-rider). The rest of our party wishes they had planned for that scenario.

    7:07 - Yes on the jackets. I've live my whole life in a southern central coast CA touristy town and the #1 sold non-food item in the shops for July are sweatshirts. Seriously, people misjudge this so much - H80s/L90s in the day and H50s in the evening/morning. I usually wear jeans and a jacket to our local 4th of July Firework show.

    I always tell people to bring ziplock bags. If you bring the gallon size they are also good for wet clothes. If you have little ones you may have extra clothes for them, but you need somewhere to put their wet clothes. Also works good for "accidents". I highly recommend dry socks during the rainy season. You will be surprised how much better you will feel if you can put on dry socks after you step in a puddle and get your feet wet. Great list. P.s. don't forget if anyone in your group has food allergies to bring snacks for them. Disney is one of the better parks for finding meals that fit special diets, but it is harder for snacks.

  • @SoCalDisneyDad

    @SoCalDisneyDad

    5 ай бұрын

    All of this is really great, but especially about the snacks. I've often been really surprised they don't have more allergy friendly options, like there's nothing sugar-free anywhere in the park (to my knowledge) and some people legitimately do have a sugar allergy, and then there's some of us who just don't want so much sugar in our diets. 😅

    May Gray comes before June Gloom. It could be a little chilly in the mornings but the sun should make an appearance after noon when the marine layer (thick blanket of clouds) burns off and it could warm all the way up to 80s, then will drop back to the 50/60s after dark. When I look back at past footage from May, I usually find us wearing jackets still, but even on my most recent visit (Thursday), it warmed up to 72 and I took my jacket off for 4-5 hours. The day started off at 52 though. Because of the arid climate, temperatures can fluctuate as much as 40 degrees in a day here.

    Tell me about it!! It's crazy. 60 degrees, overcast (not so unusual, but all day overcast is, it's usually gone by noon), and RAIN. The weather is nicer in dreary Pennsylvania where I grew up (80 degrees and sunshine). That's not right. Not right at all.

    Hasn’t ever happened to me so it wasn’t something I was thinking of, but it’s an excellent suggestion! Thank you for adding it here for other viewers who read the comments!

    Is that an umbrella? You might be surprised to find out that it has rained around 50 days in the last 6 months. That it is raining right this very minute at Disneyland, and that there are two days of rain on the next 10 day forecast as well.

    Nonono. I am the genius. My kids have always worn their own butt pack; carry their own sunscreen, emergency info, poncho, besides snacks. Originated by the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland, who were the original geniuses, of course.

    @@SoCalDisneyDad thank you for your videos. Im an older mom with a 4 and 5 year old, I started all over in my older age and your videos have helped me to prepare for an up coming trip to Disneyland. Boy has everything changed from back with my 28 year old son... Disneyland seems so complicated compared to back in 1995... I have been binge watching your videos, I want to keep up with my two little ones so they're not shorted because of my age. Once again, thank u so much! 💕
