@tomyg88: TRUE, infact The Philippines now is the leading in Asia in most number of wins in some prestigious international beauty pageant such as Miss Universe, many many beautiful women in the Philippines.

there are 4 city attractions in the list of or at least considered honorable mentions in the Unesco heritage sites, Malacanang, the Manila American Cemetery, Corregidor and Intramuros....but in fairness, these are more than those of our South East neighbours which only 1 or 2 sites in the list..

I have been to Rizal park. Its not far from Manila Hotel. This is where we started out trip. Great place, but very polluted and dirty. It was really sad to see those kids on the streets. Once we left Manila it was a totally different atmosphere. Its like heaven.

Polluted? It's not polluted air in Rizal park the air there is good, Fyi, Manila air quality is better than air quality in Bangkok, Hongkong etc..

The City of manila had peak in the 60's and 70's. Now its old, decaying and a dilapidated blight that ruins the overall image of metro manila. Other cities in metro manila has left the city of manila behind

maybe, but there was a recent list of Heritage sigifiance by the Unesco, and Metro Manila has 4 of them, compared to our South East Asian neighbours, and 3 are in Manila, Intramuros, Malacanang and Corregidor...

angel cap corregidor is an island near bataan. Intramuros has plenty of squatter colonies inside which speaks about the ability of the city of manila to preserve its heritage sites.

AMM0beatz because Philippines is a multi race culture..we do not have our own culture but all were shared and adopted from different races..from our first inhabitants the afronesians,malay and Indo.chinese-before the spanish colonialization,then the colonialization era:Spanish,Japanese and Americans..as you can see..most of the places in old Manila are chinese and spanish theme.Our culture mostly came from the spanish..though we have a little from Malays and Indo.Malls here in the Philippines are tourist spots because it has everything..from shopping to entertainment,malls here have sports even ice skating,and cart racing,arrows,bowlings,leisure theme parks and many more entertainment.So mostly tourists are enjoying in the malls.If you want to see the beautiful parts of the Philippines go outside Manila.
