I *LOVE* drawing digitally. But I've recently tried doing traditional mediums, like watercolors and gouache since I can't use my pen tablet (stylus is damaged and needs replacing, but I do get to borrow a senpai's iPad Pro for some illustrations). I just wanna say I never knew I needed to try watercolors and using dip pens until I tried them.

Did you just try cleaning your ink bottle with a white sweater on? Living mangaka life on the EDGE

CHIIIILD!! You don't even KNOW!! When it spoils... You'll know!! It takes years to spoil but when it does itll smell EXACTLY like a spoiled egg!!!😂😂😂 I remember chasing my fiance and cousin around the house with a jar of spoiled ink!! OMG I WAS DYING!!!

I also experienced it having to spoil earlier than expected. I sometimes use a brush to use it for coloring black parts or calligraphy. As the water from the brush gets mixed with the india ink, it seems tap water has chlorine and other natural stuff in it, that the rim of the bottle started having molds!!! 😮😫😲. So now I use a dropper to transfer enough amount of ink on another container or pallette; just enough for what I need so that I won't contaminate the ink.

This is crazy, I was just thinking “Man I wish she would upload again.” Glad to see you back Lizbeth ♥️♥️

For watercolour paper I like to take the final painting and flip it over. Gently with a clean brush add water to the back side of the painting to dampen it, then place in between parchment or wax paper and press between two heaving books over night. 100% flattens with no warping or ripples. If you add markers wait till the end and use so the don't bleed ❤️😘👌

Hoo, boy do I know the sketchbook pain you just said. I actually keep my sketchbooks and journals inside big freezer bags. It may look like I'm a germaphobe, but I've actually lost a lot of ideas and drawings that I can't recreate properly, all because they got wet T_T I also do the brush hack for my acrylic and oil brushes: After I'm done painting I wash them out with shampoo to get all the paint off, and then I coat them lightly with leave-in conditioner. Next you use them, they'll be stiff, but the way they came when you first buy them, a little water will revive them. Another hack I learned is, if the brush gets a little scraggly, dip them in very hot water and smooth out the bristles, then coat them in leave-in conditioner overnight.

I use that same Bombay India ink but I saved the bottle when I was done for water. The little built in eye dropper is really useful when you just need a drop or two for dry inks and stuff

Is that a Gustav Klimt book? ☺ Your tips are always helpful. I'm not really good with art but it help me stay calm. I also recently love to do carpentry and I found out that after cleaning the brushes and put lotion on the bristles, they stay soft. I have tons of old lotion around that are no longer used so it's good that I can still use them instead of throwing them out. You can also use them to polish wood. BTW, all hacks are my favorite. They're really really useful and can save us some money. 💓

I love these artist have videos! But for me, instead of using a shoe organizer to store/organize my art supplies, I use an old messanger bag that I don't really use anymore so that my sisters don't ruin my art stuff and also because I never thought about a shoe organizer being used to store art! I ink veeeery slowly and carefully so maybe seeing that might let some of you know not to feel bad if you don't work as quickly as youd like 😄 And of course I'd give lots of tips along the way!🌈

Just another tip: it's mostly advised to use distilled water to thin India ink since normal tap water contains bacteria and stuff that could make the ink expire easily... I learned that the hard way with technical pens.

I didn't know that conditioner could be helpful for art brushes. I knew that washing them with dish soap (a bit, don't go crazy) works and keeps them pointy. I will try conditioner just to experiment. 5:41 Besides getting yourself a shoe organizer, if anyone is a broke ass student as me, go and check out your local thrift store or charity shop and find either organizers or mugs. Also, you can recycle the Pringles cans and if you want them to look pretty just cover the brand with paper. I mention this because I originally wanted everything to look tidy but my budget wasn't going to allow me to get nice stuff. I don't mind having mugs (which I can take with me) or Pringles cans that I can put on the recycle bin if I have to go back to my country. 6:00 Girl, Ziploc bags are another new level of the whole Konmari method :D 6:16 Now that's smart as fuck, I'm going to apply the water bottle hack because sometimes I really want to paint but then I think "I'm too lazy now to get up and fill the jars with water" XD. Yep, I also use my empty jam jars to paint :D. Thanks for the hacks!

OMG yeah!! I totally recommend it (synthetic brushes don't need to be moisturized but sable brushes, which are made od real hair, do). And THANK YOU for sharing all of these awesome hacks with us!!😄💕 Even I wanna try them out LOL

I use the water bottle hack myself. I keep two bottles, one for standby water and one for convenient cleaning. I also just learned recently that ink spoils, which is REALLY frustrating... I JUST BOUGHT a full bottle of SpeedBall ink, and its already bad :(

I haven't used an inkwell in forEVER! When I get my own place I would love a space to myself so I can freely practice my skills. I still draw a lot but it's rather hard keeping a lot of expensive supplies in my small bedroom ;3; Curious about one thing though: are clothes really doomed if you spill acrylic on them or is there a hack I don't know about (I was a dumb young art student and was not wearing a smock)? I know to be very careful when it comes to cleaning up acrylic paint because it is almost impossible to get off.
