Just a tip, but you should raise the rear of the car on stands so it's level when filling the transmission. 😉

isn't there a reset procedure you should do on the MID with the key just like on the A/T or no...?

Ugh I'm at 180k I can't change mine I'd be afraid it would make it fail but it's got a small leak so this helps so I can atleast top up

Changing fluid on a high mileage manual won’t make it fail! It’s possible on autos, in some rare cases.

I don’t believe that you are filling it up in the correct spot….. the fill hole is actually in behind your drivers side tire to the left of your cv axle. Hopefully you aren’t overfilling your tranny causing excess heat. Kinda has me worried since you said the gears aren’t shifting as well as they used to.

On 2013 and earlier models the check/fill plug is located on the lower front side of the transaxle housing. On 2014 and later models, the check/fill plug is located on the lower driver's end of the transaxle housing. From Haynes manual ^^^. Hope this helps.
