This resonated with me as someone who had 2 surgeries due to an out of gym accident and gave up on the gym because I knew I could never get back what I once had so felt there was no point. Only now that I have started exercising and working out again have I realized that you can still enjoy it with limitations and be the best version of yourself. The gym has also always been my escape.

It’s like hearing my story all over again from 2010 . Going through the same drug addiction, to losing my little brother from suicide. Like Calum we were super close, and WAS IN the same dark head space after he passed. But talking about it helped in ways I never would have imagined, and the gym. The gym was my saving grace. That’s why I’ve always said Jay, and being apart of the team saved my life. I always say reach out to the ones you love, even if they seem fine. Don’t let that smile fool you.

Great interview, guys! I'll be honest, I went through an 8 year stretch of rough depression, and I drank a ton of alcohol in an attempt not to deal with it. I just hit 1 year sober right after my 34th birthday, and I feel amazing. I know it was hard for him to be vulnerable here, but I got a lot out of it, and it reminded me I'm headed in the right direction. Much respect for him sharing his story! Sorry for the loss of your brother... you and your family are in my prayers.

Amazing interview, this guy is the most inspiring fitness icon, in my opinion. He has had so many setbacks. And he still comes back stronger. Resilient human being

I am 50. That said I obviously have Pumping Iron on dvd and have been motivated in one way or another by Arnold , then Jay. When Calum came along I was in late 30’s or maybe even 40. All of know is that the dudes pure heart and character motivated the fuck outta me . I am so sorry for his losses , especially his dog . However, I am so very happy to see him get through that and all the dark times and to be where he is now which is motivating again . Now other Tren Twins getting my old ass pumped to go train but Cals videos do as well . Man just so happy to see Cal back . Thanks Jay for all the motivation and for possibly leaving a mental message in Cals mind that kept him from going to far over the edge . God Bless all of you guys and your families . Nuthin but love 🤙🏽
