I took my young sons to Staunton and up to the Buckstone, just a couple of days ago (April school holiday 2021). It was a beautiful cold clear sunny day, and the view was amazing - even they were impressed! For the next trip, I think we'll go and look for the Near Hearkening Rock and the Suck stone. Living in Gloucester, we're fortunate to live within easy reach of many wonderful places to visit. Thank you for the video.

Both myself and my partner Christine just love these videos of places where we haven't visited Patrick. The walks in the area seem to be, indeed. most pleasant, and it was a nice surprise to see those most unusual rocks. The Near Heartening Rock has some beautiful views from it, and it's formation is quite huge in size, too. The church in Staunton is a very attractive building in architecture, together with the old surviving cross. Many thanks for this interesting and enjoyable film, Patrick. Take care.

Thanks for watching this one Ffranc. The Wye Valley and Forest of Dean is my old stomping ground and a personal favourite place for me. Near Hearkening Rock and the Suck Stone are amazing rocks to see. Staunton is a pretty village even though it lies in a busy road. Yeah that old cross is great. Thanks again and all the best 👍

Thanks of rekindling some memories of several walks I did in the 70s with my School's rambling club through the Forest of Dean and ending up at the Near Harkening rock. All us boys then stood on the Cliff's edged and bellowed out cries to see who had the loudest voice, no doubt annoying the residents n the valley below

One of the things about walking in the great outdoors Patrick ...Ive gone Arse over tit more times than i care to recall mate.....Hope youve healed well .. You have to be careful walking alone we don't want to lose you and your wonderful channel. So much to see in the forest and what views, i expect you have walked all over the places you could see in the distance. Lovely rock formations and standing stones from times past. Thanks for the tranquil walk really soothing to watch. Take care.

Solitary Rambler No problem mate. It must be difficult to fit all this around your full time job. I know from my own experience how difficult it is to juggle paid work, my voluntary work, hobbies, padtimes etc. You do exceptionally well.

Lovely stuff Patrick, I know you have been to Cheshire and walked up the mighty Shuttlingsloe, but have you done the walk from Lyme Hall up to the Anglo-Saxon Bowstones ?- well worth a visit. Thankyou for making these great films.

It looked really bad when i fell, but it wasn't as painful as it appeared really, just sore for a while :)

Thank you for another lovely informative walk around the Forest. How long did it take you to walk from the Suck Stone to the Buck Stone as it is quite a distance.? Roger used to ride horses around that area in his youth.
