So I have seen numerous youtube videos of guys running 3s on these cars with stock electronics. But when I turn the car on I have steering but no throttle and a blinking light on the esc. Plug in a 2s and it works perfect. Stock esc is rated at 60 amps.

That may be an ESC issue, but it is better it in 2s only since manufacturer did not clearly mention that it is also good for 3s

I have the old one with my own electrics in it does 71mph on 2s and I got to 89mph on 3s before crown gear on diff blew it been in there for ages on 2s will pass 100mph easy with a new crown can't wait to try it when fixed 😀

Been watching your work for a while now that 124019 a beast on flat top

i love mine,i beat the dog crap out of mine, i can be 100% honest with you i havent broken one thing on it (replace, yes) i.e. axel shafts, A-arms and only because the hinge pin wore out the plastic oh and i shredded a tire because i have a hard time keepin the front end on the ground...lol. Running a hobbywing ezrun max 10esc 3300kv motor combo i can do 48 MPH and thats on the stock battery it will do 68.7MPH on 3s and only cause i ran out of road and that little thing doing almost 70 MPH is scary AF. thanks for the vid hope to see more.

Thanks! Use foam tires and upgrade motor + ESC. Change in gearing is a bit complicated in Wltoys rc cars because they use Mod 0.7 gears

Wings and suspension are all stock, make the front a bit lower than rear end, and practice throttle control

Thats fast enough. I ordered one of these rc cars because of this video and the fact all i have to do is upgrade the esc and i can run 3s all the time. Did you try 4s with an upgraded esc and tires? Id like to see this if you didnt.

No, I did not run it on 4s because the ESC is only 2s-3s capable. In order to run 4s it needs a bigger ESC capable to run 4s lipo

Thanks! I do not recommend daily use of 3s lipo with the Stock ESC (sooner or later it will get smoked) ... if you want to use 3s regularly, then better upgrade the ESC with 60 amp or higher

have you tested it, or the 124017 v2 with 27t pinion? I have a 124017 v2 with 87mm wheels and I ride a lipo 3s, I'm thinking of trying the 27t sprocket of the v1, I don't know if the engine is going to push, since the 144010 has more final km than the 124017 v2 they use same engine and electronics

If you will use a 27t pinion it will perform equally as a 124019 , so you will get max. speed around 120 km/h on 3s using a 4300 kv motor

My suggestion is to keep the parts stock, my 124017 v2 unstable after the aluminum upgrade

Yes, some parts need a little bit of flex so the plastic is more stable than aluminum 👍

I just got my car, the new style radio has no throttle lag but it won't let you run on 3s anymore. I bought the same packs for mine but the esc just flashes red with them. They must have reprogrammed this newer model to only run on 2s. I was planning on running it on 3s with the throttle trim turned down a bit to get a bit more run time and performance on road.

Yes, I think they did so, in order to protect the ESC ... but you can upgrade the ESC with Hobbywing 10BL120 if you want to run 3s lipo

@@RcModwerks23 I bought a 10BL ESC and a Rocket 540 brushless 4.5T motor but I have not installed it yet. I am having issues with steering wobble on the front end. I need to figure that out first. I installed a dumbo radio better servo and some metal upgrades. This car doesn't want to track straight, it wonders one way or the other and in reverse the front wheels have death wobble. I bought 3 sets of tires and rims but they are all not running very true. I need to find a good set.

Check if the ESC is overheating, or your lipo battery might be less than 30% charge

Do a proper wheel alignment and you will gain few km/h more speed

You can change the gearing ratio, and or upgrade the receiver/ controller to give you more stability on the speed runs, Hope this helps

It depends on the new setup, I got a similar rc buggy (144001) which was able to hit 176 km/h with Mod-1 gears

So mjx hyper go 14210 is slightly faster with 3s battery than wltoys 144010 with 2s battery. But it is safer to run mjx with 3 s battery than wltoys

I rarely run it with 3s lipo because 2s is already fast enpugh for street bashing. If I want to go really fast, I use my ither speedrun cars

I dont notice the lag in this rc buggy maybe because of the V2 Transmitter ... in my 124017 V1 yes there was lsg in acceleration but none in steering.

@@HannesZietsman This 144010 already use the same 4300 kv Motor, ESC, 19t Pinion gear, Blue Transmitter as in the V2 of 124017 and 124016 ... I dont know what other V2 you are referring to. Personally I will change the Tx/Rx to DumboRC or Radiolink to have more range when doing speedruns.

I just got mine today and the only thing that really bugs me about it is the throttle delay is totally dire ☹️

If you have another wl toys transmitter from another model just bind that up to the car. The issue is the esc on this model not the receiver

You are not having an issue, they no longer run on 3s😢 they must have done something in the esc programming. I have the 144010 and the 124016 purchased in the last 6 months and the esc just blinks on 3s on both of them.

How hot do the electronics get after 3s runs?

You should not use 4s lipo battery on the stock ESC, otherwise it will get burned on 4s

@@Ryndel No problem. The best Wltoys platform are the 1/14 and 1/12 scale .. The 1/18 scale are fun because of their smaller size but they are uncontrollable at 120+ km/h
