Hope your b day went well!!! Also tips to help with insomnia as an insomniac myself. Try listening to ambient noise as you try to sleep. My personal favourites are ones with people just walking through city’s during rain. Tea also helps ( non caffeinated ) Try not to eat or drink anything an hour before bed. Your body will keep you up as you digest. Weighted blankets or pillow. I have a weighted pillow in the shape of a person so it feels like I’m being spooned ( or spoon the pillow ) it helps so much. Warm baths, it relaxes your muscles and increases blood flow. Melatonin ( doesn’t always work for everyone ) Making a sleep schedule. Even if your not tired yet, try to sleep or at least lay down and do something that’s not to tasking like reading a book or watching a movie Don’t use your bed for anything other than sleeping. This will train your mind to start pumping melatonin out when you sit/lay down on your bed. Hope these help!!! Love you!

Just wow- I’ve recently just gotten out of a very toxic, manipulative relationship a few weeks ago and my days have slowly been getting better and better with hope and therapy and patience, but I’ve been concerned about the idea of finding someone who will actually treat me with respect and kindness and my own future and success. "If you felt in your life that you have just had full-on rain the sunshine is coming to brighten up those days.” After many weeks of trying to find a job that matches what I am looking for I just got the news that I've been rejected for the first one I applied for. If I’m being honest I think you are on the right path. I genuinely believe everything happens for a reason. Maybe this break from school will give you time to learn more about yourself. Gain more confidence, and less care for what others think. And in this process you’ll be able to figure what direction you truly want to go in. ​@EL-de7sk wow I would say that's true and yes I also dropped out from design college, all my peers are in college now but I know design college isn't for me and I feel more happier to know I didn't chain myself down to a course I don't like to begin with and will see where life will take me maybe I will study engineer course instead when I'm ready

Nhi, I'm speaking from a perspective of someone who went through similar time. I did not drop out of school. I stayed and failed classes (consider I was a straight A student). I really could not bring myself to study. I cried everyday and I was like you now. I did nothing. That situation went on for about three years before I could do something and try gaining back my GPA. I got A again for all my classes and went on conferences after conferences trying to network and become more confident. Even while achieving all that, I still felt lost deep inside. I was still depressed. After graduation, I did nothing again for 3 years! I was buried deep in depression, and I felt like ending my life. Then moved to a new place and worked for a year before I had to shut down everything and became depressed again for another year. It was the hardest 7 years of my life. Fast forward to today I'm replying to your comment from my own house. I'm attending grad school, getting braces for my teeth and doing so much more. And I'm going to tell you now: just less than an hour ago, I reached out to a crisis line because I had suicidal thoughts. But I'll also let you know that the kind of depression I feel today is totally different than what I felt back then. It's because I've grown stronger and deal with it differently. My point is: 1/Life changes. Trust me you won't be stuck forever. One day you'll go out and do things again despite depression. And don't worry if you need a break again. That's totally okay. Take a break when you need to, so you could get out again. That's what I did. The break felt like it'd last forever, but it won't. 2/Maybe depression is always there, but you will be stronger and wiser as time goes. The way you deal with depression will be different. So hang in there my friend! You will feel better. Now that I look back. My life wasn't always so bad. There were times I genuinely felt happy although not completely. I do agree with the two comments above that everything happens for a good reason. You are on the right path, Nhi. Although it doesn't seem like it. I know I wouldn't be where I am today if things didn't happen to me. Today something sad happened to me. But I dealed with it by trusting the Universe and taking care of myself. I fed myself though I didn't wanna eat. I gave myself a break though I had deadlines to meet and a lot to do. It's okay. Work can wait till tomorrow. Though things seem terrible right now, but I trust that it happens in my favor. I think faith is what keeping me alive. And to gain that faith, I absolutely did hit my rock bottom. What you are going through right now.. I know it sucks. But it's making you resilient and teaching you something you need to know. You show strength to come on here sharing how you feel, Nhi. Better days are coming for you. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's okay to take a break. You deserve some rest! Whenever you are ready, I know you'll come out and shine again. You mentioned that you dropped out from a prestigious university, so I figure out it is a huge deal for someone like you who cares a lot about their education. I hear you that depression is taking a toll on you and you are having a hard time talking to your loved ones about it. I truly feel you. Hang in there.
