As a black girl how do you manage to get your hair done since youre away for a long time?

Girl I was struggling but not really…I have natural hair so already that’s a problem…I would do my own braids or sometimes ask my friend to help me. I had a wig but never wore it so most of the time I had braids or just went with my Afro to work. I don’t mind doing my own hair the only problem is that it takes hours and I want to sleep. But there’s people that know how to do hair onboard so you can pay them or go outside in ports and do your hair at a salon

Hey, usually people in the shops department are allowed in most of the passenger areas since they work with guests already. I know they also allowed to eat in the guest buffet area

Hey yes I was doing the Caribbean season, it was fun but alot of hard work since we work everyday for 6-8 months but you get used to it hey

Hey, I’m in the entertainment department so I don’t know much about that. I had one friend in the medical department tho and she seemed like she had a good life onboard and they finished work early( unless there’s an emergency of course) they also had access to guest areas and could eat in the guest buffet area)

What SA bank do you use? And how's the tax rate when you convert your earnings? How much are your bank charges per month since you are alway abroad?

Hey Jessica, I use Nedbank but when you get onboard they give you a new bank card where they pay you your salary. I would send some of the money to my nedbank account to save and since it was an international payment thing the bank transfer charges where $4. I didn’t really have any bank charges the only thing I paid for was the $4 to Transfer money between the two cards. When you work on a cruise ship it’s tax free so we don’t have to worry about that for now🙆🏾‍♀️

Do u need to have a degree to apply for certain jobs....or vele vele u supposed to have qualifications?and experience aswell

They mostly look at experience, but with some positions even if you don’t have they still hire you. But obviously if you want to apply to be the doctor on board then they’ll look at qualifications and experience

Hey you'll need a work visa for whatever county your ship will be in but the company will let you know what you need after getting a job offer💖

The interview process is quite fast well for me it was. Interview takes like 30mins then usually the next day or same week they get back to you.
