    Build your own is best,all you need is a kit $200 and a battery $200 and a mountain bike that's beefy with disc brakes and you're good for 3 year's riding before needing a new battery 🙋‍♂️🇬🇧

    I agree with everything you said and I really look forward to your videos! Found a way to run the battery down and still ride home with ease! I know my rang and I really really plan my rides. With proper planning I can get down to a paved, reasonably flat road near home. It’s easy to peddle this 68# beast while thinking of the ride I just completed ... which I consider to be training for future rides + (no need for hated squats). One ride last week was a 53 miles, with an elevation gain of 2,430 ‘ according to Mr Garmin. Pedaled home empty (no assist) for an easy 6 miles. I will be 76 next week. Love my Ebike. Replace cassettes and sprockets with steel ones, weight saving is not a biggy on ebikes and steel lasts a LOT longer . KMC E chains are pretty good too. My next ebike will be belt drive v1.2 with a motor and gearbox fully integrated and centrally mounted . a silent 100000km belt on ss cogs with nothing to hang up on the ground will do nicely thanks .

    When are we getting regenerative braking so that shredding downhill puts a little back into the battery? Will we get in-motor gearing to remove the weight of the rear mech & cassette from the backend? These are the future of e-biking, even if it flirts with reinventing the moped!

  • @funnelfpv9435

    @funnelfpv9435

    3 жыл бұрын

    Because the amount put back would be so small(max 10%) it wouldn't make sense to complicate the ebike system + make it a lot more expensive. You need to redesign the standard bike gearing system with some of the new in-hub gear which costs half of a new bike or put the motor in the wheels which shifts the center of balance of the bike.

    Flat battery is not as bad as it sounds. From time to time i turn the motor on my Levo off. Some people pretend e-bikes are heavy like anchors and its a disaster when your motor doesn't work. Thats nonsense. It requires a little more effort to go as fast as it would on a normal MTB, but thats all. You may not want to do anymore climbing on your journey though. Thats no fun on a dead E-MTB. But it isn't truly fun a normal MTB either is it ? ;-)

    @@jimbo4203 best way but many do care about fitness and although if you want to the ebike can probably be a better way to get fit than the standard bike. Especially from the training skills while staying fit and the recovery ride side which many pros use it for. It's also easy to let things slip and not realise the power you're losing until it's gone and then it's far harder to get it back. I'm definitely not 1 of the ebikes are lazy brigade, I've heart valve damage so for me they are the only viable way to get out there and it's not the platform but how you use it that matters. By far the best way is the fun side as I struggle to see how anyone can claim they aren't that and more fun than normal bikes but there will always be haters of anything new.
