Fury is an excellent movie ruined by the ridiculous last battle scene. A battalion of German infantry, let alone an SS battalion, would swiftly destroy an immobile isolated Sherman. Even if they walked up on it assuming it was knocked out as happened in the movie, unlikely in the first place, they would very quickly out flank, encircle and panzerfaust it into oblivion, and carry on their merry way.
@razorwire3056

why bother? If they actually thought the tank was toast... and they did because of burning bodies and battle damage.... so why would they bother worry about outflanking it or wasting what would be a very precious commodity (anti tank weapons)? They wouldn't bother.

Watched it, watched it, watched it. Hell I've watched every one of these films. There is nothing new on this front of movies. And as far as Dunkirk I would rather watch the French and the British that were fighting the Germans to allow those men to get away. I remember in that movie the French soldier moving along the beach and one line of the British said they were this regiment as if it meant something. They were all on that beach trying to run away.
I've seen al these movies. Most of them several times. I watch too many movies. In Hacksaw Ridge the US soldiers were very lucky the Japanese left a cargo net for them.
“FURY” while a very entertaining film was HIGHLY inaccurate!! 88mm rounds didn’t bounce or ricochet off of Sherman tanks……they went through them!! Also if a panzerfaust hit a Sherman, it pretty much killed everyone inside, not just one guy!!

Sorry but you've all missed the "Greatest War Movie of all Time" which is A Bridge too Far - cast, story, action....all impeccable. It's a film that couldn't be replicated now due to cost and finding enough 5 star quality actors: Connery, Redford, Caan (RIP), Bogarde, Caine, Fox, Hackman, Hopkins, Gould, Olivier, Schell.& Ors...just naming the lead-actors!! Other must watch War Films: Patton, Battle of the Bulge and Battle of Britain. I'd also add The Great Escape and U571, - even if the last two are full of bollocks. (Unsure if these films are on Amazon - if there aren't then they bloody well should be!!

The biggest mistake in fury is the tank is not a yank 76 mil but the British Sherman firefly with the 17 pounder lol
@Gearparadummies
2 жыл бұрын
It's not. It's a Sherman M4A3E4 modified to look like an "Easy Eight". The Firefly's gun is considerably longer than the "Easy Eight's" one and the easiest to spot telltale for the Firefly is the boxy bulge at the back of the turret where the radio was located. It was added to the design because it was the only way for the 17-pounder to fit in the Sherman's turret. Go check Bovington's tank museum: Both the Sherman used in Fury and the Firefly can be found there.

Even if they walked up on it assuming it was knocked out as happened in the movie, unlikely they would be so careless in the first place, they would very quickly out flank, encircle and panzerfaust it into oblivion. @@flyingtigers7856 More so, the only thing the Germans had to do is rake the tank with machinegun fire from all sides while a platoon positioned itself in the rear and let a single Panzerfaust 60 fly. Minutes? Way too much time. I actually stopped taking the movie seriously as I watched the most incompetent Tiger crew ever engaging a Sherman at near point blank range and a couple logs soaking up an 88mm anti-tank round. If the Shermans were so awesome(Same for the T34s) why were they lost by the tens of thousands?
you lost my attention at the hurt locker. that is the most unrealistic portrayal of the war in Iraq. 1% may be true, but the other 99% is total BS. it's a slape to the face of everyone that was there.
blackhawk down is also full of hollywood fantasy. read the book and you will wonder how the hell they made such a BS movie so full of errors from such a well written book.
