I have lived in Copenhagen for around 30 years, but I learn new things about my town every time you talk about the city

I too live near Copenhagen and I basically use these videos as the best way for me to get info that ‘everyone knows’ that I’ve missed out on. My conspiracy theory on this matter is; that everyone watches tv late at night and get all the secret locations of nice restaurants when I’m sleeping. 😂
DeepL is a much better app than Google translate - thank you I learnd a lot
I'll be moving to Copenhagen in about 7 weeks time and your videos have helped me to plan and understand how the city works in so many ways. Thank you.
Sometimes, like today, I like just listening to you guys while I wash the dishes. You two are so wholesome and mellow and calms me right down. Thank you two for being you😊

That’s great! Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching 😊
Good list!!! Might I add "Shelter"... for camping and free shelter spots all around Denmark. Even close to Copenhagen
Hi just want to say, that i find you guys amazing, and even more so in the way you present all the stuff you see and do just living and working. I hope you get some appreciation, other than the the to me clear fact that you enjoy it... I feel you have something many advertisements and promotion dont have... An honesty based on own experiences. 🥰 love it. thx
Very well timed. Me and my friend have a mutual friend coming to visit from the UK sometime this year, and these apps will definitely come in handy. I haven't heard of 80% of these, but many of them will definitely help him.

Awesome! I hope they help! We especially use Early Bird when we just want a last minute dinner and a discount 😊
I can certainly recommend the Copenhagen card for short stays
hi random thought . in this week in Lidl. they are having "american items week", it must be nice, that you sometime can buy your authentic original favorite stuff, just like in USA. it must make you feel nostaltic from all the authentic original flavours :D (just like inviting an italian to dominos)
@RobeTrotting

😂 I imagine it may feel like that. I’ll have to go to Lidl and see what they’re offering. It is very fun what ends up classified as “American items” haha.
Hey, love the videos that you guys make, it helps loads for visitors and people who live here, since we don’t always know what we do or how best to get our friends from abroad to have a great experience in our country. So thank you. I had a thought for a topic you could perhaps consider in a video? Have you thought about making a video on Traffic and bike safety? Many tourists rent bikes in Copenhagen only to get into serious accidents because they don’t know the rules. If you already have a video then that’s great, have a good one 😃
@RobeTrotting
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the idea! We have considered it, and mention it in an upcoming video - but it could be an interesting topic as a whole (like, is it responsible to rent bikes and boats with no required safety training).
Thanks men! Very helpful 👍🏻🙂

For language and stuff, around 86% of danes actually speak atleast SOME english. (idk if it's exactly that) But yeah ticket apps and things, such a need. But yeah for that kind of stuff, google translate is not that bad. Usually my friend just texts me "what does this say"(usually written in broken Danish but i'm so proud they try) but yeah haha
Have you been to Hanehoved?
What's the difference between the DOT Billeter app and the DSB app?
@JRBendixen
Жыл бұрын
The DOT app is for everyday use for everybody. The DSB app is more for locals using long everyday travel with long subscriptions for public transport. They both basicly do the same. The DOT app is just way more for casual usuers and the DSB app for monthly payment and long travels ie. Danes. Most just do the DOT app for short travel in Copenhagen. Locals and turists. You can use DOT for long travel and It should cover the whole country. So do DOT if you are a turist and DSB if you work in Denmark and have long travel time to work by public transport.
@mrigayu

@@JRBendixen That’s a very thorough response. Thank you! I only used the DSB app while I was in Copenhagen for a month. I had heard about the DOT app, but now it makes sense. Thanks!
How do you get around in the winter? still bikes?
@RobeTrotting
10 ай бұрын
Many people bike all winter too, it doesn’t snow very often but we usually take public transport more often in the winter
GetYourGuide was a must, when i went to Krakow last week.
You talk about paying through the apps but what is the best way to do that? I know they have something called Mobile Pay, however don't you need a Danish bank account for that?
@epender
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it does require a Danish bank account, however I've never had a problem using my foreign Visa or MasterCard Debit cards in Denmark or on any Danish apps, there's very little chance that a visitor would ever require Mobilepay.
@bentebunting9568
Жыл бұрын
@@epender thanks, I thought so but just wanted to make sure
@RobeTrotting
Жыл бұрын
Yes, not with MobilePay but some places may give you an option to order and pay using an app - one is called Botler for example, and you can use it just while you are at that restaurant and pay with a card or Apple Pay, but through your phone. In those instances they almost always accept orders and payments “traditionally” as well. The app format just makes things easier and faster for service 😊

@@RobeTrotting just wanted to be sure I could use my Canadian Visa, thanks
@vrenak
Жыл бұрын
@@bentebunting9568 There's no differentiation of usability based on where your card is issued anywhere in Denmark, there might be different fees levied, but that's due to the banks and CC companies. But no place will care where your card was issued.
Hej. When we were in Denmark in December we used the DSB app to get us from Copenhagen to Odense to Esbjerg and back by train. I didn’t notice mention of it in your video and I’m curious about your thoughts on it.
@JRBendixen

The ones they mention does the same.
