I prefer the YOREPEK Travel Backpack, Extra Large 50L Laptop Backpack. I've used it for both local and overseas trips and it works great! Has a USB port, is water resistant and fairly ruggedly build with a strap to attach it to your rolling luggage. I did add a cross strap to make it more comfortable for me to use but others might not need it. It has a 4.7 rating from over 44K reviews and only costs $28. $28 bucks!!

Insane roundup as usual. Have been looking to up my pack game, but with all the awesome options out there it gets a bit overwhelming. Trying to decide if I need an EDC bag or a smaller travel bag with some highlighted here on my list (Peak Design Travel Backpack 30L, Alpaka Elements Pro) and the rest pretty much smaller siblings of what you have in this video. Primary use cases are driving into the office, taking my toddler around town, and traveling with a carry-on suitcase + backpack. When going into the office, I carry a 13" MPB, notebook, iPad, 18oz Yeti bottle, and a couple of pairs of glasses in cases. With the kiddo it's usually that, plus her extra clothes, plate / utensils, and a water bottle for her. When we travel, her stuff goes in her own backpack, but I add a 13" MB Air 2 (personal laptop), and usually a couple of packing cubes. Must haves:- Clean look for going into a tech office- External water bottle holder(s)- Separate laptop storage area / suspended laptop storage- Luggage passthrough- Quick Access pockets (preferably easy access to laptop) Sorry for the detailed info, but would love to see your recommendation. Love your content and looking forward to seeing your bag come together!

Excellent presentation...It could very well lead to a late, very needed Christmas purchase...question about the insurance: on our last trip we had a big bag delay (took 5 or 6 days to reunite us with the lost bags) on a trip to South Africa (frequent travel destination). Because the trip was so busy, we didn't get around to filling out all the paper work until after the "time limit" to file a claim. Is your insurance better than that? Really felt nickled and dimed out of a proper claim.

Would it be foolish to get both the Aer Travel Pack 3 Regular AND Small? Or would it be more practical/flexible to get the TP3 (regular) and City Pack Pro? 28L Seems like it's the right size for me. I am worried 24L CPP will be too tight as i have a 22L and it's already too small. My goal is to fluctuate between EDC, USA Budget Airlines, and my flight to France without requiring overhead compartments. Maybe I am trying to check too many boxes?

my only knock of the Peak Design (I have the 45L Travel backpack) is the rivets used on rotating shoulder straps can give under heavier loads. If I had to pick one of these for an EDC I'd go with the Able Carry Max cuz it's the smallest that I like aesthetically. But even then it's pretty big for an EDC. @@Nomads.Nation I apologize for any confusion in my previous message due to my dyslexia. The only caveat is its weight, which is approximately 1.7 kilograms - the same as the X-Pac Aer TP3. The Peak Design backpack, on the other hand, is a bit lighter at 1.4 kilograms. Without compromising on access or pockets, should I go with Able Carry or is there a different backpack not on my list that is around 30-32 liters but lighter? I'm eager to find a balance between weight and functionality. thanks dude! That's a really hard question to answer cuz it depends on many factors. How light/heavy will you pack in regards to clothes? You can bring 3 t shirts and do laundry every few days and travel as light as a feather, or you can bring enough clothes to never have to do laundry the entire time. Do you plan to fly a lot, and if so are you trying to always carry on your bag? What's most important to you? Lightweight? Comfort? Security? Features?

Can you make a Video for European Airlines? We dont really need such big bags. Often the max size got carry on is 40x30x20cm. If it is slightly different it doesn't matter. But 50 or 60cm in hight is too much. The limimits are for example wizzair, ryanair, easyjet.. I dont find any good bag this size.

@@Nomads.Nation ok here's something interesting or maybe not. I was checking tortugas website and the listed dimensions of both the 40L and 30L aren't indicative of their capacity. The dimensions of the 40L indicates 38L volume (capacity might be less due to padding and shape as with all bags) and the 30L is 30.3L so realistically probably a 26-28L bag. Where's I can see other brands dimensional volume is more than the listed capacity as it should be. E.g Able Carry Max is 33L volume but listed as 30L due to shape and padding. What's Tortuga playing at then?? 😅
@Nomads.Nation
11 ай бұрын
@@agent_pires I'm no expert, but like you said there are often other factors that cut into the volume of a bag (like padding, pockets, features, etc). The only real way to measure the volume of the bag is by doing this (www.osprey.com/stories/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Screen-shot-2012-03-05-at-10.32.43-AM.png) which I trust Tortuga has done

What a great roundup here. I got the 40L Aer Capsule pack after seeing your review (its no longer made, but they still have the 35L on final sale). I love that thing because I like having one large space. Though those Sympl and Wandrd bags, I can see a case for having two sections, as you get good visibility to everything at once, once opened. Also sorta serves as built in packing cubes if they have the mesh over the section. I'm the sort that unpacks the whole bag at my destination, but if I moved rooms a lot and kept everything in the bag and just worked outta there, I'd like those two. I never got the underneath the seat front bag thing, like, my feet belong there. If its a long flight that would be unbearable. I wonder if people are just traveling over weekends.
@Nomads.Nation

So stoked that you love the Capsule - I was sad to see it get discontinued. Having a bag underneath the seat in front of you isn't necessarily about comfort, but more about traveling with a bag small enough to never have to be separated from it... ever

The OG Peak Design Everyday 20L backpack is the best backpack for travel, hands down. The latched opening top is amazing when flying, you throw the backpack on its back under the seat in front of you it is dead easy to grab snacks, food, a jacket, anything and open and close that top easily. Also because the top capacity is expandable via that ladder latch system it makes it easy to throw jackets and sweaters in there. The side storage in the side flaps is awesome too and you have the hidden straps that act like tie downs for external carrying stuff too.
