11,000rpm Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider: Better Than The £2.5million V12 hard-top? | Top Gear
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Great news for all those who put a deposit down on Aston’s £2.5million hard-topped hypercar… only to realise they couldn’t fit into Adrian Newey’s snug cabin - it’s the new Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider.
Even though it may seem at odds with the aero-obsessed design, might it be a better bet than the Coupe? We sent Top Gear Magazine’s Editor Jack Rix to investigate. Subscribe to Top Gear for more videos: bit.ly/SubscribeToTopGear

I was just getting my cheque book out then you say they're sold out. Guess I'll stick to the original plan and get the Kia.

Why does exclusivity exist in the hyper car world? Why not make it were anyone who wants it can buy it? That would prevent hoarding and keeping these machines in garages. Make them not exclusive, that way the development money gone into this will be a little bit payed off there is no point of this exclusivity crap. Reason being this thing is gonna cost $7,000,000+ right off on the off the allocated list market. Aston Martin isn’t making that money but some scalper or flipper is! They should not make this ultimate expression of the internal combustion engine exclusive it isn’t diluting the car but rather making it sure that these things will be driven and we will see them out more. That gives more respect to the amount of effort it was given to this project. 100 units or 150 units is far far too low we will never see these things out and about what’s the point of it then? You might think this is a foolish statement but exclusive cars never get driven and are pointlessly kept away!

I am just waiting for Chris Harris to drive it.

especially with the AMG One in the game. I’m surprised they didn’t include it on day one and chose the Valhalla instead.
Rix and Chris Harris are the only two reasons i still watch Top Gear. Those two are so on point with their style of presentation. It's completely different to "old Top Gear", but very, very interesting and well done.
The perfect car for Tony Stark??? Possibly the most eye wateringly beautiful car I've ever seen....
Super awesome beautiful car by Adrian and Aston Martin...now that Honda is at top of F1 racing again with Adrian at RedBull Honda, it would be awesome for a special project with Adrian, RedBull and Honda/Acura.
Utterly marvelous work on design and engineering
Developed: for insane Track Days Real world application: picking up rich girls on parties

@rasa porosangue Im very sure a 1160hp N/A + electric V12 in a car based on a F1 chassis with aero levels rivaling LMP1 cars is going to be insanely fun to drive.
It's a beautiful piece of engineering, but I really don't know if I could enjoy this car beyond doing hot laps on a closed circuit.

Come on, imagine looking at that in a garage every day. There's a satisfaction just from having it. I don't think this thing needs any "cruising" or practical justification at all. Just enjoy having it, enjoy looking at it, maybe flash it at some big shows or meetups every once in a while, and of course work it out on the track to keep the ownership experience alive. I actually like that idea. I share the Chris Harris view and don't really get dailying modern supercars since they're too fast to even push 25% on public roads, yet on a track might as well just have a GT3 car if you've got that kind of cash. But this car... it's rare because it actually holds up in visceral experience and authenticity to any race car on the track due to its pure, inspired roots.

Such a beautiful car. Unique, with Valkyrie Aston have found a winning and original design language for their mid engine cars. It is very much distinct from McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini and anything else. Aston seem revitalised with this new direction.

I agree with you. I wish they will keep that pushrod in their regular mid-engine car (They maybe change from Vanquish to another name as they tend it before).

That pushrod, IMO, makes Aston Martin a very different mid-engine car.
wow! Nice to see something a bit different from Austin Martin. love it!
How does the Valkyrie pass the strict new eu exhaust noise regulations lol
Cant wait to this vs the czinger 21c.
I love everything about the looks of this car, every angle, everything, apart from the front end... which is obviously not everything, I know...
Love to drive it around track. The amr pro will test the physical limits of the driver for sure maybe this does too.
What a masterpiece this car...
That is the ultimate roofless sports car, and therefore my ultimate dream car, like my old 400hp aero Elise, but quite a lot more so!!! Much prefer this to the GMA car, which may be an astonishing drive, but for me lacks visual spectacle.
Oh man this might just be the most beautiful car on the market right now. Absolutely gorgeous
This car the amg project 1 and the gma T50 are the holy trinity I would love to see them all together
The front windscreen looks like you cant see out of it
I can't even imagine how driver feels that 11,000 rpm 😂
What category it's aim of/to?🤔
I thought Aston Martin cancelled the Varlkyrie project midway. Did they decide to resume production?
5:08 I'm pretty sure if you have the means to buy a Valkyrie, you can arrange somehow to have a track day in an F1 car.
A piece of motorized Art 👨🏿💻🤷🏿♂️🍷🔥
I hope one day to have the money, that I get to choose between a coupe and convertible Aston

So if I got out for a drive without the roof (it’s a convertible so naturally that’s what you bought the thing for).. how do I stop the rain or 50 school kids getting in when parked or driving?
I'd much perfer the Aston Martin Vulcan to this. Thanks.
What a freaking machine. If y'all damaged that center piece you were removing and putting back, it would cost more to fix than to replace 2 of my bland commuter cars.
Well we'll get to see one in Manny Koshbin's garage when they're finally released.

Stunning
Mercedes AMG Project One has no chance with Valkyrie. Damnnnn what a stunning car they created with that v12.. there wont be more epic car for loooong time
As a mere mortal if I ever get to drive that car I will say I've driven an F1 car. Thank you for this share.
I think the valkyrie and amg one are the pinnacle of automotive engineering
Lovely colour👍👍

I'm 6'4" (194cm) and I reckon I could, but I'm mostly legs. therefore I could have the canopy close over my head no worries. Jeremy on the other hand, is another 2cm taller and is more upper body than legs. he'd have no choice but to look directly at the top of the windscreen.
Perfect!
Aston Martin=Piece of engineering and art
When X-Men & 007 meet up to save the world, he’ll be driving one of these 😊😊😊😊
My guy says this is the closest to a F1 car. Doesn’t the AMG Project One actually have a F1 engine in it.. for the road ?
I must correct you there, mere mortals are not able to purchase cars at this level to begin with.
I mean WOW when you think it can't get any better
I hate the idea of having no driving mirrors
...do you have to be seated to replace the roof...?
Nice the Vagner for gta
I can't wait till they can put this up against the T-50, it will be epic
Just get rid of the side glass too.

Can someone please tell me what color is that car. I have a custom Harley I am building and want this color scheme. Thank you
Love V12 NA engine
para tenerlo en un museo o garaje
I was going to claim my 6’5” height was the reason I’m not buying one. No longer! Now it’s because it’s 84x more expensive than my budget allows 😆
This is arguably closer to being an F1 car than the standard Valkyrie lol
Wheels remind me of the Porsche gt2/ 918
This is becoming my favourite car
Dam that thing is sweet.
wow the roof comes off like my 20 year old Camaros does
Absolutely nice car
sadly my one car garage already has a Golf in it, so no room for this. C'est la vie.
Imagine your cleanly shaven head providing that extra slipperiness to the airflow and thus aiding to the aerodynamics. Talking about being one with the car, eh.
Well thats sorted then, I cant afford the spider so it looks like i'm lumped with coupe
Beautiful car
It wasn't a problem for us because we were both "vertically challenged"... That was honest
Ight so when I can have a spin in it?
