Jade my first thought in hiring an editor is, I may take as much time explaining my vision to the editor as it would take for me to do it myself. Thought?

This!!! I’m editing all my videos at present as I want my videos to be personal, authentic and to help me understand how my family (subscribers) respond to them. Once I’ve established that, I would simply send my channel over to an editor and state “this is what I want to portray, follow it and have a chance to make a few amendments before accepting the video back” without having to explain everything that would take the same time as editing. I’m only a new KZreadr but what I want and what @Jade mentioned, is to have subs who genuinely want to watch my content. Hope that helps and that makes sense.

This is totally fair, however a good editor will only need your vision explained once (or twice)! Once you get used to working together, revisions and feedback will be minimal & you'll save lots of time

I think focusing on search content does the opposite though. Those people are often searching for the answer to a specific question or problem they have, and so once they have watched that video, you’ve solved their problem and they’re no longer interested.

It can but think of this. Depending on if your content is all in the same realm of topic, use what Jade said in a previous video about building out a story bka a series: if they had a problem with a, they may have a problem with c, f, and y..Next u focus on the WAY u present the info. There’s been plenty of times I binged a persons channel and whatever they put up, despite me not even needing the info, bc I simply like their job screen presence. To backtrack to the second point about them needing help in other areas, try to find info not widely known or things that helped u specifically that other people aren’t talking about bc while they may have problem A, there’s a high chance they don’t KNOW the other problems they have or will have until you tell them..

It would be nice if the additional videos you reference and “point to” on the screen actually showed the link to that video. Some links are missing.

Thanks for the helpful tips! At what point did you begin to outsource the editing of your videos? Did you wait till after you already had an income stream from your channel?

first thing you would do to start a channel? I am overwhelmed with all the thngs I can share--my focus will be history etc. So instead of teaching etc, I want to share things I find interesting and usually have a historical foundation....I"m not really interested in creating a "membership" but can see if time, have a youtube scubscription chanell where I can share additonal videos. Where do I start?

Hmmm. Increasing my income as a content creator ten times!! Interesting! Ten times zero equals zero... Ow. Nevermind! Have been creating content as a fulltime job for two years now, didn't ever make a single penny (did spend a lot of money on it though). I think I'll just give up. Growing on youtube isn't possible anymore (unless you're really lucky or if you're a 14 year old creating Roblox videos)
