There actually was an episode where they used the word "hell", in an episode where Rocko and Heffer go to an amusement park, they see a ride with a sign that says "Elevator To Hell". Also, in the episode where Rocko and Filbert get married (no, that wasn't a typo), they both say "What in the hell" as they open a door, but quickly change "Hell" to "hello" when they see who's at the door :P

If I'm not mistaken, Camp Lazlo was initially pitched to either Nickelodeon, or both Nickelodeon AND Cartoon Network. Claiming it was a Nicktoon is either a fair mistake, or their take on it having been pitched to Nickelodeon.

@@Johnlindsey289 bojack horseman is an adult cartoon. It's kinda expected ud see more mature jokes. I think they're more talking about cartoons that were watched by kids but had adult jokes in it. Hard to find now a days on big networks. All I can think of off the top of my head is (like u said) regular show, and the amazing world of gumball. While, if u think of cartoons from 90s to early 2000s ud come up with a list more easily

@@abrahamdavidcortina923 It's actually for a different reason believe it or not and not for a reason as shallow as that. Mostly a fun bit by the creator since he also made Rocko, but they thought it would be funny to hint Lazlo is within the same universe as Rocko.

I loved Rocco! I was starting out of my life at the time. Working my first jobs, dating, and living in my first apartments. And it was great that there was a show television that dealt with this without being cheesy.

Rocko has always been my spirit animal.

Did you guys just completely gloss over the fact that Rocko's Modern Life wasn't Games Animation's first production and that it was literally formed out of the split between Spumco and Nickelodeon during the production of Ren and Stimpy, and that the later half of R&S was ACTUALLY the first thing they produced?

I LOVED this show when I was a kid and my mom always watched it with me. We always laughed about Rocko's shoes making noise when he walked x3

You forgot, Heifer was lead camp counselor in Camp Lazlo after the lead camp counselor was found to be insane and took his place, at the end of the series.

Rocko is my favorite of all the nicktoons. Sorry spongebob and loud house.

I love Heffer the cow! He's such an optimist and he's so funny. I also love how he's relatable because he eats a lot. I also think Rocko's voice is so cute! I love his accent!

yea sadly those scenes were left out as this box set was still aimed at children...i only ever saw the afformentioned no tell motel scene once years ago on youtube before the google buyout never saw the heffer milk machine scene

Rocko's Modern Life premiered on Nickelodeon on September 18th, 1993, three months before VeggieTales, the American Christian 3D animated video series debuted on VHS on December 21st. It also premiered on my birthday, but I was born in 2003, 10 years after the show aired.

One great scene not mentioned that was banned in the states but bizarrely passed in Europe was in "The Good, The Bad and The Wallaby" where Rocko and Heffer visit a relative at a farm and Heffer gets mistaken for a cow and hooked up to a milking machine.... With interesting results... xD

Bonus fact did you know Joe Murray designed the dvd covers himself it's on his official KZread channel so good. He hand paints the background then uses a computer to add the characters in.

Rocko had a few more jobs Comic book store clerk (First at "Lots o comix", later at "kind of-a-lot o comics"), Underwear Model, Phone Operator, Plumber's assistant, tattoo artist, cartoonist

LOL! I remember all these episode. As small kid, I had the time down. Even on school days I had VCR programmed to record that show.

I was 7yrs old when this show was on Nickelodeon. And 18 when Spongebob started. Niece born in 2002. Nephews born 2010 to 2013. We love these shows. Pretty awesome childhood thank you. 😍😍😍

Rocko's neighbor reminds me of Zippy the Pinhead's neighbor, Mr. The Toad.

That's because the censors caught on that "chocky chicken" was slang for touching yourself.

I am a former fan of this show... I actually just forgot about about it until I saw this video. Thanks for reviving my memory of this great cartoon
