It's so weird people assume it's leaning into violence, racism, and war-romanticization when it's actually the opposite. The ideas presented are to be consumed in a way that is not a one-to-one moral lesson to imitate Eren or to pin Isayama as racist for writing racism in his own world (that literally points to the effects of racism and inquality as a bad thing). People who say that are delulus who think fiction are real life. It's pretty obvious the message was about stopping the cycle of hate and in turn that is to also stop idolizing Eren and his radicalism. He was left with no choice but to die as a villain
