One time at a bareback riding school in Carthage MO, 25 years ago. He put us on horses late in the first day. I rode the shit out of mine. Mainly because I was in front of my Idol! I can still remember him saying You really got something to build on..keep it up!! The second day I double grabbed on a horse and Ty made me do 25 push ups in the middle of the arena. When I got up he shook my hand and said now....NO MORE FUC*ING DOUBLE GRABBIN! In 10 years after that of riding bareback horses... I never double grabbed on one.😂

Ty has always gone out of the box to be a Champion. I’m sure some people were giving him a hard time about doing gymnastics but they don’t have the buckles or influence he does. Dancing with the stars, a cowboy ? Now he’s introduced a whole new group of people to Rodeo. When he retired and started getting trained to train horses, I saw an interview of them asking why he was doing that. His answer was “if they are going to call me the greatest cowboy of all time, I’m going to keep working on it”. Great show.
