If you are interested in changing out your operating system on your computer
I recommend that if you are not familiar with Linux that you start with either Debian or Fedora. The other popular Linux distribution Ubuntu may be too much for those who are starting out. If you wish to have the Old Windows XP desktop, then choose Mate as your DE (Desktop Environment.)If you like the look of Windows 10, then choose Gnome. Remember most of Linux is free, so if you like, send a few supportive dollars to the distribution and to specific programs.

I 100% agree with you and I’m quite sure there has been thousands of people who left due to stopping their coupons the way they were from day one.

I think they dropped the coupons once they had a computer system strong enough to create email promos (free) and the membership. There is something to a coupon in the hand, however there must have been 10 coupons for every item all with different savings. Try subscribing to the emails and see if you like it. Thanks for subscribing and please be safe.

I agree with your assessment of HF recent business model. Last year was extremely frustrating using HF online purchasing due to long shipping times, cancelled orders, and online coupon restrictions. They really want everyone to visit the brick and mortar stores. They have gotten rid of print catalogs, reduced the amount of coupons and replaced those with Instant Savings. The twenty percent coupon has also disappeared from HF ads I found in hobby magazines.

I really think that the marketing department at HF is is really hurting the effort. Thanks for watching.

The Bauer, Grizzle, and another brand, the bases of them look exactly the same. Since I've been doing a lot of research on power tools here lately. I have noticed that a lot of products look exactly alike.

Few companies make their own tools any more. Since they buy from OEM factories, companies order tools like we order pizza. That is color choice, additional features, different standard of components. I call Grizzly hand tools, the green Harbor Freight. Thanks for watching and be safe.

I seldom go to HF for the same reason and more. Every time I buy a tool, they change brands and you no longer can get parts, and of course the tool breaks. If you read the find print, very few items are qualified for the coupons. I am in the market for a spindle sander, but if it breaks like every thing else I have broken from harbor freight , then that's $200 out the window, I will probable by a Ridgid from home depot, 10% veterans discount, lifetime warranty.

I can understand your point of view. Regrettably too many companies are dropping quality and giving the bumb's rush with warranty work. I must say that HF is working on quality upgrades and now starting to add a parts department. As an interesting point the Earthquake 1/2 inch impact air wrench, according to Ave, as he tore apart the wrench is actually better made then the Snap-on version. Also end wrenches are pretty good, too. But, I know what you mean. They still like to use customers as their quality control. Thanks for watching and be safe.

I haven't bought from harbor freight in almost 4 years. Home depot and lowes are closer.

I would say that everyone should purchase based upon each one's circumstances. But HF is really upping their game with Bauer, Hercules, and the other new entry lines. Thanks for watching.

Nice video. I saw another review where that guy had purchased 2 of these and on both units the deck could not be adjusted to a full 90 degrees. Did you put a straight edge on your deck? Is it straight? I’d like to get one of these but not if I can’t work at a true 90 degree angle

I just did enough to see if it was a solid unit. I'll let you know later today about your questions. Thanks for watching.

I'm sorry for the delay. Today is extremely disjointed, but I slipped out and checked the angles. I put a metal straight edge across the table top and had it at a true 90 degrees. I then angled the table top and put a 45 degree speed square on the angled part and referenced the straight edge to see if it was a true 45 degree angle. It was. How accurate? I would not have any problems with the accuracy for metal working, although it is not designed for metal working. Even though I have not done a project using the sander, tests and referencing shows this to be a good piece of equipment. Remember my rule: If it comes from HF and has bearings, get the warranty package for a few dollars more. Thanks for watching.

I just bought one of these this weekend. Haven’t opened up and taken out of the box until I saw that same video. I decided to check for myself and sure enough, same issue with mine. I’m taking it back tomorrow and getting my money back. I’m gonna buy the rigid some time and not even bother trying to get another Bauer mine is off about 2-3 degrees! Checked it with a level and a square.

I’m not exactly sure how this qualifies as a review. Out of a 12 minute video, you talked about the tool for maybe 1 whole minute, with the extent of your review boiling down to “it’s good.”

They are getting better. And, they do watch this channel because I don't pull punched, but do so without being mean. At least this is what I try to do. Before I retired, I tried to bring to managment the customer's point of view if I think they missed it. Be safe.

If the instructions say to do something, and it works, but you don't understand it, guess where the problem lies... Indicator lights more or less died after NVR switches became common. This stops remote starting, so you have to press the switch on the tool to start it, a conscious action. When it is running it is obvious it is powered. Having lights on when it is off both wastes power and adds to cost. And pretty invisible outdoors. What exactly is the problem you are trying to solve? I was amused by the advert at 12:03, which claims it runs at 2021 RPM! Such precision! Impossible, of course. Also, power is measured in Watts, not Amps. It would be better if this video was listed as an anti Harbor Freight rant. Especially when you spend the time complaining about false advertising!

This got started when one of the Perkin Brothers lost some fingers with a jointer because he couldn't hear that it was running. So I have been recommending that any tool that has to be manually turned off have such a circuit. Whereas something like a miter saw, you have to hold on to the switch, when you let go, it stops. You can get seriously injured if you loose track of things. As for the amount of energy used, that is a decision that each one of use must decide. Thanks for watching and stay safe.

@@Original_Old_Farmer That seems a valid use case. One solution is a light (red?) attached to the dust extraction system. Any powered machine tool will cause this to start, and give a warning. Of course, in most cases either the machine of the extraction system makes enough noise to act as a warning...
