There is something about this generation. I’ve been in nursing for 10 years and taken care of a lot of veterans. It’s absolutely insane how low the ww2 veterans population has dropped. I currently only have 1. He is 102 years old and very lucid in his mind. He stormed the beaches of Normandy, got captured and was a POW, met hitler while in prison, then liberated by Patton’s force. This man is extremely well humored, humble, and doesn’t let anything get to him. Much like the other heroes I’ve had the pleasure of working with

@@catalinarossi lol all I know about hitler was that there was no conversation, but he said that everyone was dressed up and that everyone was acting very proper like something big was happening. The next thing he knew he saw several SS and Hitler walk in and inspect the place. Then hitler walked in front of all the prisoners and stared at them individually saying something he couldn’t make out. Then to torment them they pulled up a big table and ate the most delicate food in front of the starving inmates. They got to eat a boar head soup with the brains and skull fragments left in it
I don’t think people realize how sad it is that this generation is almost gone. They’ve seen the world completely change in the span of 80 years and had to fight in the most brutal war ever. When my parents were growing up every middle aged person was a ww2 vet including their parenrs

Our generation and future generations will have their own issues to worry about. There is always the off chance of WW3 to occur. Anyone would be lucky to survive after that. During our lifetimes, we will see great falls. With the middle east being not as dangerous as ww2, but it affected a lot of people and countries. And 2022 with the war between Ukraine and Russia and many countries involved with supporting. In the long run, we may see a new Russia or a change in territory. We've already witnessed neutral countries joining NATO for the first time. We are seeing financial hardships world-wide. Which could lead into another depression eventually. Potentially within the next 7 years, we could be repeating history.

why would anyone look up to celebrities in such a manner? sounds like you're just saying a whole bunch of nothing. most Americans probably do look up to veterans especially during periods when liberty and way of life were being defended, such as the 2 World Wars.

@@daharos What do you mean “why would anyone look up to celebrities in such a manner”, do you not realize that most of the younger generation of Americans idolize and emulate movie stars, reality TV stars, and rappers over veterans. Even though I’m a younger American myself I’m the exact opposite from what I see in my peers who are my age or maybe even a bit older. So that’s what I was saying in my first comment.
