I've never experienced a game like the Last of Us Part 2. From me disliking, to hating, to starting to like, THEN loving the game and now it finally becoming my favourite game of all time... to me personally, definitely a masterpiece. But I can understand why people dislike it and it's all valid. Theres just so much in this game to think about and its AMAZING.

I honestly think the last of us 2 was an amazing game. To be able to see a completely different perspective from the “bad guys” side is genius. I feel it had to be made the way it was of course it was heart wrenching seeing what happened to Joel but in TLOU 2’s world nothing is a fairy tale

I understand and I get it was something different but I honestly think it was wasted potential :( there could have been so many amazing moments that they didn’t include such as Tommy being a playable character and going after Abby I feel like this would have been amazing as Tommy in an incredible hunter also I didn’t like playing Abby for 10 hours Yh sure it was to see the other side but I absolutely hated it and thought it was dull and I just wanted to get back to Ellie’s section when playing her now I’m not hating on the game I’m just really disappointed and dissatisfied

i loved it too man. good “villains” are always my fav part of video games. here Abby had a legit reason to be the way she was. i didn’t blame her for killing Joel. i would’ve wanted to do the same. the game was dark, unforgiving, and i loved every minute of it

I love the game. I'm on my 4th playthrough. I know there is a tremendous amount of complaints about the story, but, I mostly buy games for the gameplay and the visuals. lol

Being further removed from the release and emotions of this game I can finally appreciate how good it is as a story but I still really hate Abby for what she did but like I said removed from the emotions I feel, this game is a masterpiece and I love it and also hate it. If you're using the Void render mode during the rat king sequence, if you look closely inside the door where he comes out of (you dont see him get out, but you can hear a loud roar when you activate the generator, and see a large blood trail coming from said door), you can see it while it growls when you approach the door. It also disappears as soon as said growl stops lol

I actually heard now that they only went with Bella Ramsey still riding that GoT train but only because they originally wanted Maisie Williams to play Ellie… and just realizing it Maisie and Ellie do have the same last name, but Bella did play a good young Ellie. Not sure how she’ll do as older Ellie.

This game was perfect for most players but for hardcore fans was terrible cause they knew yheir characters and in the second game they changed so much.Also we wanted a continuation with our beloved characters that felt like a different game

This game left me questioning things long after it was done, for many part of the game I just kind of wanted for Ellie to pack and go back home and the fight at the theater left me emotionally stunted by that point I cared for both characters and didn’t wanted to fight each other. I'm sure it will, the game made so much money for them not to make a part 3. I believe Part 3 might be the last one.

I'll summarize the fanbase in TLOU 2. There are more people who like this game than they hate it. But that doesn't mean everyone who likes it gave it a 10/10 masterpiece or best game ever made. The people saying this is the best game ever made is definitely in the minority. But the people who says this game is very good or gave it a score between a 6 to an 8 is definitely in the majority. A lot of people who played the game do not despise this game, we are rather more disappointed than hating it. There is so much to love in TLOU 2 that should not be ignored.

Completely agree with you 👍 I love the prologue, all Ellie's flashbacks, all of Ellie in Seattle day 2 and Ellie in Santa Barbara before Abby. If all that was on a separate disc i would be happier. The rest, as you said, is not really hate (except the plot line and over all story), it just doesn't have that MAGIC. For me the first game was pure MAGIC from start to finish.

Well shit man you can say Dina was “judged and “vindicated “ by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emerites 😒 btw I LOVE this game. Played it again and again and even made it at least one round on Survivor+ I grew to even appreciate Abby and what she and Lev stood and my goodness me those set pieces like Jesse and Abby escaping in that Car from the WLF, Abby’s time on the Seraphites Island, Ellie’s time at Santa Barbera and how satisfying it was to kill all of the Rattlers, the crushing emotional moment as Ellie Fighting Abby by the ocean and ESPECIALLY The Rat King!!! That fucker scared the shit out of me and I continue to improvise on my guitar with The Rat King’s theme music! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Don't get why everyone got so butthurt over it, I mean where was the story supposed to go. Joel murdered her father and pretty much everyone else she knew. Ellie literally goes out to do the exact same thing Abi just done, I did think Abi looked ridiculous though.

I will be fully honest, I've been gamer for a long time, and the last of us 2 is a 7/10. I believe that it gets higher reviews because of the woke culture promotion, which is an awesome thing, dont get me wrong, but still I believe it affected the reviews a lot and it should not play a part in reviews of the game. I saw couple of reviews giving it a 6 or 7 and people in comments called them transphobic and homophobic and bigots... Which is unfair because they do not comment anything on characters sexual orientation or gender. Just pure story. So that is kind of toxic culture.. small part of the whole thing, and still my top 15 playstation game but like 7/10 gameplay and story maybe 8/10.. but Imma get attacked because its not 10/10

Let's get in the middle ground here: TLoU II is a meh game compared with it's predecessor, specially considering the amount of fails and half baked things like the story and narrative and feels familiar to part I. Gameplay wise it's enjoyable, accesibles for people that don't really play videogames (like some game journalist) and kind of fun, still, it didn't deserved the unhealthy toxicity nor some of the awards it got in the GOTY's

No, it's not. TLOU2 has more interesting/complex characters and has a more innovative narrative. TLOU1 was a tighter story and that's it. The sequel's story was better in every other regard IMO.

@@major4211 The story and some characters had a lot of potential, true, but just the pace, the unhealthy environment in Naughty Dog, the crunch those workers got to get through and the flawed narrative... It feels draggy and unjoyable on some points (and that's no taking in consideration some nonsense that were put in the story for the sake of keeping it moving) I'm not an experienced writer too, yet I know my fare share of it by having it as a hobbie and part time gig but I can assure that, with more time and taking out some elements that were put in for the sake of fulfilling an agenda (or not, but it sure does feel like that sometimes) or convinience it woulda be easily more acceptable by a lot of the audiences.

@@metalslug55516 Pacing is dictated quite a bit by the player. This is not a movie or TV series with a fixed running time. Like, how long does the player spend in each section? What difficulty setting are they on? Do they break up their play sessions well or chug through? Pacing was fine for me. After we switch to Abby, I stopped playing for a few days before resuming. That helped with the transition. "Crunch" is wrong but should have no impact on how you review a game. Part 2 is a slow burn. There a quite of bit of moments of walking and talking dedicated to character building that won't be everyone's cup of tea. This doesn't make the story bad. It just isn't everyone's preference. I found each and every moment in the game to have a place. Nothing felt like padding to me but you feel otherwise. To each their own.

@@major4211 Now that's fair, indeed that "To each their own" The pacing I find it problematic due to everybody hating so many things they either rushed the game to finish it and get it done with it. A "good" story (not to saying that the story is pure garbage but is indeed something that could a been a lot better) in videogames has to trick the player into a subconscious pacing, were they slow down or speed up when need it, only stopping either because it's need it or the player needs to rest and take care of himself The crunch was bad not because "If it has crunch then is a bad game. Period" but because that sole practice can ruin any project to reach its full potential. For my, crunch mangled what could a been a engaging story (despite some characters) even if it was based on a cliche. Clichés aren't bad per se, it can be amazing depending how you develop them And here my reasoning for disliking some characters. A character has his value as an individual, if he can engage you by his/her personality and pure interaction with him/her and the world that surrounds then it won't matter his beliefs, sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc. For example, the lil girl that's trying to scape the cult because her deviations. It acts like the Ellie of Abby, yet by herself his arch can be resumed in "I want to scape because they want to kill me for being different and no following their beliefs" That got even more potential that it lends on but, again, it got wasted The game is fine, deserving a 6.5/10 or even 7 because it is nice to play to have a nice time, yet I reiterate my point on the game having a lot more to show and develop and their own fair share of wasted potential story wise. Personally, I play videogames for the story and the engagement, so even if it is hard to play and has meh mechanics, as long it has a good story (it hasn't to be perfect tho, being enjoyable it's enough) it would be fine

Desperate people are more vulnerable to manipulation and TLOU is a world that creates plenty of desperation. Lev is trans and he isn't accepted by his community. This happens to quite a bit of trans people. Like, I grew up in a dirt poor town that was in a bible belt, and have seen it first hand. It isn't right. It isn't fair. It should be the least concern of these people. It still happens. Second, pacing is not going to work for everyone. I thoroughly disliked RDR2 primarily for reasons related to pacing. Many people liked the slow pace because it increased their immersion. I did not. I am not going to say RDR2 was a bad game, because I found it to be a drag, It just wasn't for me. Personally, have issues w/ pacing in games period. Even the first game had pacing issues for me during the chapter before we meet Ellie. Video games have a hard time escaping loops that negatively affect pacing. TLOU is an incredibly polished game. "Crunch" did not seem to have an impact on it. I still am having trouble understanding how a company's bad work practices can be measured enough to figure out what needs to be deducted from their game's review score. I gave TLOU a 9/10 and the sequel a 10/10. Gameplay was so much better in the 2nd and the story more engaging for me as I mentioned previously.
