I'm pretty sure the reason the Katayanagi twins turn it up to 11 is also because they are numbers 5 and 6. They are fighting together, hence 5 plus 6 equals 11.

Maybe because it was full of references only gamers and "hipsters" catched at the time, 2010 wasn't exactly the year where comics and other "nerd" stuff where solidified into the mainstream, they where there but it wasn't the golden era like it is now.

when i saw it in theaters , my group of friends cheered when they said Toronto, and did the high pitch, CANADIAN! scream , since well we are Canadian and at the t ime lived in Peterborough

I’m Canadian, a lot of houses that were built In the 80/90s have a light switch out of reach. Not too sure why, it’s just a norm that people don’t think about.

And every house has that one switch that no one knows what it does. We used to joke that every time somebody flipped it, some guy in Germany's lights would go out.

I remember watching this with no expectations at all but falling in love with it in an instant. I also had 3 of ramona's hair colors without even noticing.

I have most of this movie memorized because I decided to watch it every night for 3 weeks

You mentioned the Xs in the background in the bus scene with Ramona and Scott, but not that the lights behind Scott were also hearts? You left out half the trivia of that awesome scene! Also, I wonder how many people didn't know that Lucas Lee was based on Jason Lee. I had no idea he was a skateboarder before Mall Rats until I watched the trivia track for this movie.

I remeber walking home (pretty late actually) and seeing this random bus (are was clearly blocked off) driving up and down the street. Ugh. I used to live in South Etobicoke in the 90s and they shot so many movies and TV shows and commercials on my street it was ridiculous. One time some random guy started frothing at the mouth and screaming at me to not look at the camera (I wasn't - I was just walking home) that I finally lost my shit and told him this was MY street and he could F Off. :-)

Dude I never expected that Julie had something for Scott. I always thought she was a [BLEEP] with him, just for the sake of it.

I forget her actual words, but in one of her tirades she definitely indicates that Scott is cruel to women that fall for him, and it's pretty clear she's talking about herself. It's only a short scene - easy not to catch with the fast pace of the movie.

The twins having 2 dragons is a reference to jimmy & billy lee from the double dragon beat em up series

Uh, I bought it last year from the website of the company that makes it, I forget its name. I'm pissed because I can't get a joystick to work with in on my laptop and its got so many damn keys that I just can't play it very well. I think the gimme of the game is if you are the Kim character and you need a rescue then the Knives character comes down and kisses you, thats a reference to the comic, not the movie.

I have the capacity to geek for this movie.

We do all have superpowers in Toronto. The Casa Loma stairs really are that long. Also, not to do with the movie, but we are the raccoon capital of the world. Seriously. Honest Ed's, however, is gone - not just closed, as mentioned, but a hole in the ground now. Too bad, it was a landmark for decades. "Come in and get lost!" was not just a saying, it really was easy to get lost there. Oh, and the record store? Sonic Boom. At the time, it was kitty-corner and a few doors down from Honest Ed's, and it really was as massive as it looks in the film. It's moved a couple of times now, but it's currently on Spadina just north of Queen West now, the heart of all things hip, and just as busy as ever.

Every time they have Honest Ed's in the shot I die a little inside. I hung out in that neighbourhood for years. Oddly enough, in my whole life, I only ever went in the store one time.
