This GTR/Driver combo are an iconic duo worldwide, but now with the legendary team at Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) they have formed a team trifecta. Gidi and this GT-R were the first to get into the 6’s, and now they are cracking off consistent 6 second passes left and right, thanks to the help of ETS and those whom have offered support along this seemingly impossible journey. Kicking off our coverage of Import vs Domestic’s World Cup Finals, the ETS-G finds itself at the top of the world record list, as well as our feature list. We’ve been following Gidi and the team for many years, many iterations, many failed attempts and frustrations. It was important for us to bring this experience to life on your devices so that you can relive some of the most exciting and dramatic moments of this car’s progression. The team at ETS and Gidi are far from done, as they are going to continue to collect data into next season and then take the car apart for a serious overhaul in preparation for a monumental World Cup Finals in 2020!
Editors Note: While I typically treat most features indifferently, I found myself constantly smiling as if I was engaged in the moment with those in the video, like I was there with them. Gidi does an absolutely exceptional job of making sure he shares his success and achievement with those around him, those whom support him, and (most of all) those whom have helped him. chris77777777ify About 5 years ago we had a guy who worked for the Chinese takeaway who drove a rally spec Subaru Impreza and you could hear him coming over a mile away, when we heard him we knew it was time to take the plates out of the oven. :D sad when he left although we could never understand how the hell he could afford to run and fuel that car delivering Chinese food. :D

Look up Procco Evo. It ran a 7.77 and I believe it had delivered pizza at one point while it broke into the 9s over a decade ago.

i mean, tbh, it's drag "racing" not real racing. keeping a car going in a straight line is the easiest part of real racing c;. and the hardest part of drag racing is tuning the car, then building it, then affording it, then driving it XD

Somebody needs to find a way to get the GTR’s to bump into staging while on the 2-step. His problem now is he has to fully stage then get on the 2-step to spool. If he could get spooled then bump in to stage they’d be good for competition.

@@NBSV1 They do it's called Motec Boostin Performance had a bump in feature years ago 1320 even has a video on it. Gidi runs Syvecs it doesn't have that option "YET" as he says.

It has to do with how two step works on these motors, they literally can't bump into the beams and get full two step going fast enough.

Runs a mid-high 6 whilst expecting a mid 6: "Yeah, usually it hits me in the chest. It didn't that time"... You know you live in a different world when a pass in the 6s off by a tenth or two doesn't "hit you in the chest" anymore LOL!😂👍 I love this guy!
Gidi is by far one of my favorite people to see on the channel. Usually the guy is super humble but always ready to race, but he was hunting for that record this time. He's just an awesome guy.

The amount of power these guys are squeezing out of these little V6 engines will never cease to amaze me. Let alone the amount of trickery that has to take place to get a DCT car to launch and stick like this. They are absolutely smacking the tires off the hit.

Got to meet him at 2021 Kansas airstrip attack. He is extremely humble and respectable. He made 3 passes and than spend a day and a half talking and visiting with everyone that stopped by his pits.
I love this man!! He's Always the first to Say "I just drive the car" and thanks his team and Always seems to freakin stoaked to get the goal/record!
One of my favorites people on 1320 ever. Always a show when hes raceing and the team he has is impeccable!

Dude, I'm so happy for Gidi and his team! What a genuine guy and his reactions really show how much this means to him. Also to put credit to his mechanics who do all the BTS, what a guy - so many times only the drivers are remembered for records.

So sad I missed the record pass! I did manage to watch a 6.63 @ 227.46 (the run @17:50 in the video) so I'm glad I was able to witness that live. This whole thing (team, driver and car) is epic teamwork paying off!

I dunno about that wise man.. when you get to lax and the thing doesnt scare you anymore your likely to wind up doing something stupid in it thinking you got this and push it just a little too much and not come out of a slide and t the wall. Bikes are that way for sure.. your pushing a 650, ringing its neck dragging knee around 90° bends pegging the gauges passing somebody, time to sell the bike and get an r1 or something cuz you about to eat it.. and if your doing that on a 1000cc bike than you need to join moto class racing and make that money on gp bikes..

Thats a 6.40s car all day, he got some solid runs but to me it looks and sounds like the perfect run has yet to be made in that car. Super cool tho very well done
