Would be interesting, but it also needs a lot of caution of course while inflating.. Should do it remotely with a long hose and get in from the drivers side. Exploding tires from nearby will get you in hospital.

I think normal tire should handle about 6-8 bar without exploding, though always be careful and fill them from where you're not in the line of fire. At my previous work where we we're driving crappy old trucks I got to see the damage that a truck tire at >8 bar can do.

Most passenger cars don't have enough clearance for driving with just rims... you would need considerable larger rims than when driving with normal tires...

Next will be driving 100 km/h with 3 wheels

Deze heb ik ook al eens geopperd. Lijkt me interessant. Volgens mij braad je de koppeling heel gauw weg. 6000 toeren vanuit stilstand op laten komen 😜 Wel langzaam op laten komen dan, niet het pedaal laten vliegen.

Possible experiment idea: Full clutch bell housing with engine oil, see if car can drive any good with likely slipping clutch! Maybe can even stop in gear with engaged clutch without stalling engine !?

This is a test idea for when a car is really at its end. Can you simulate a car fire, rig the engine up to short and catch fire to see a realistic car fire. We're taught that a car is fully engulfed in flames within 2 minutes, but this was always shown to me with a car fire that was assisted with third party fluids.

I could drive about 7 km at 60 km/h when my car did catch on fire... I was at parking lot of a supermarket so I wanted to get it as far away from other cars as possible. As long as the car is moving, it takes quite long before the engine bay is totally destructed. I called my dad so he would get extinguisher ready if the flames would spread outside engine bay. I could drive all the way to my parents home yard and the car didn't stall. After putting out the fire, my dad did drive the car to dealership where they did replace all the wiring in the engine bay because it was melted and unsafe.

even on something that took different oils it would take a REALLY long time to have issues with a manual gearbox if ever

@@RickBaconsAdventures The teeth of the gears would wear rapidly, an engine oil is not designed to cope with the extreme contact pressures of a gearbox or differential, it would be squeezed out of the contact patch and the gears would be in contact metal to metal. Hence the EP designation of gear oils, Extreme Pressure. EP oils would not cope with the temperatures of an engine and would carbonise and break down. It would be an interesting experiment though.

Really only grearbox will take effect from this. Engine oil is a more smoother and slower , where Gearbox oil is very fast moving and thin. Since gears spinning together need fast lubricating in the gaps of the gears, the gearbox won't get with engine oil. The gears will get faster wear than with gearbox oil. However it would still take a very long time to cause any noticeable effect to gearbox Maybe automatic gearbox will have faster wear and problems as they very much complicated but even still will be slow Engine will be OK with gearbox oil, although low pressure even with many oil

Could you use something like liquid latex paint on the inside of a tire to act as a tire sealant? How far or how fast can one go with 4 of the temporary use donut spare tires before they fail? I had a 4 inch hole torn into the sidewall of a tire on a dirt road once, The tire went flat right quickly. I drove slowly and made it the 3 or 4 KM that I needed to go back home to the shop and replaced it. the tire was destroyed beyond repair but the rim was able to be cleaned and a new tire was replaced.

I can telling, flat tire on front axle is not really dangerous, it is not problem with steering and controlling. Flat tire on rear axle is more dangerous. I have getting a flat tire on rear axle by 160-170 km/h (legal in german highway). it is not happening, because i have full control about it. It is scary, how is turbulent and instability car with flat tire on rear axle !

I have had my car go airborne when tire went flat on rear axle... That's pretty much the worst that can happen because you have absolutely zero control of the car. If the car is rear wheel drive, then it's worse than when the car is front wheel drive.

Mastermilo, this experiment is very good but it show us what will happen if your tire is punctured. But what will happen if for some reason your tire is defected/old/overinflated and it blows out instantly (e.g. the side wall of the tire blows) at high speed. What will happen then in your opinion ?

Misschien een leuke test: "hoe ver kan je rijden door enkel de startermotor te gebuiken (en dus elektrisch te rijden)?" Alleen jammer van de batterij dan.

Maybe lower gear because more power is needed to keep going with a flat tire.

Misschien ook wel een interessante test is om een keer te kijken wat er gebeurd als bij benzine wagen ad blue toevoegt, een vrachtwagen zou daar mee milieuvriendelijker worden maar wat doet het in een benzine motor?

Kun je de motor ook van draairichting veranderen zodat deze de andere kant op loopt ,je hebt dan 1 versnelling vooruit en 5 versnellingen achteruit.

Wat als de benzinetank niet vast gemaakt is en je gaat off road?

Hoe erg is het om met zo'n lekke band te remmen en sturen? Je waarschuwing is compleet terecht, maar wat gebeurt er als je met een lege band op asfalt zo hard remt dat de ABS ingrijpt? Wat gebeurt er als je met hoge snelheid (bocht die normaal met 80 kan dan met 60 nemen) de bocht om gaat met een lege band? Beste test zou zijn met een klein beetje lucht erin, 0.3 bar, alsof hij net lek is geraakt.

Is die ford niet jou dagelijkse auto geweest ?
