$100K Mustang Shelby GT350R vs $500K Mustang Shelby GT350

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R vs 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 review by The Straight Pipes. The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 R is putting down 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque from a 5.2L Flat Plane Crank V8 and the 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby 350 is putting down 306hp from a 289ci V8. At $150,000 CAD, would you take the 2020 Shelby GT350R over the $600,000 CAD 1965 Shelby GT350?

Shelby Cobra. OBVI!! :) Saw one at my track even about 3 weeks ago. It was awesome. Old dude was ripping it, too, not babying it. I hate seeing proper cars being babied and garaged. I daily my Bullitt, winter tires go on soon!

That would be interesting. The 69 charger was super under rated at 425hp. I’ve heard stories that people recently built them to factory spec and have been able to pull over 500hp on a dyno. Crazy. I think a 426 hemi with the torqueflite with a shift kit would give a modern 392 a run for its money compared to the GT350s

My ultimate favorite car has always been the 1967 Shelby GT500.

Back in 1966, I purchased a 1966 Shelby GT350 (carry over version) from S&C Ford in San Francisco. I had to sell it two years later because of......Viet Nam service. Fifty years later, I purchased a 2016 Shelby GT350 from Fremont Ford, so I have driven both cars. Just to correct something you stated, back in 1965, Shelby built 37 competition models, which ford decided to build the same number for their 2015 introduction of the new Shelby Mustang. The newer model is much easier to drive, better performance and better handling. The 65-66 models were basically race cars that they made mods to in order to sell it as a street machine.

By the way, you guys were driving the street version GT350. It’s a whole-nether level to drive a GT350 competition; in 65 they were never called R model, that was added by word of mouth. The pure rawness of a competition model would most definitely make your eyes tear up with joy, your adrenaline pump out 10/30w oil and your ears bleed!
