1000whp Subaru STI with Precision 6870 (919whp/672wtq at 43psi on dynojet to be specific)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Little 3rd gear data log pull for my tuner. The Precision Turbo Gen2 6870 hit 43psi and the BC280 cams let her rev out past 8k rpm for a 3rd gear top speed of 100mph.
Power band is pretty far right in this car but she’s a certified ripper!

Thanks man! Taking it to the track this Saturday. I'm hoping for some solid trap speeds and a sub 11 second but I've never tried launching this car so it's going to be a sharp learning curve.
Wow what beautiful scenery
Superb sir! How the heck did you reset your peak boost on the car so fast?! I usually have to hold mine for 3sec then I have to press again to reset

I just click the button twice. The 1st time it asks if I want to reset and I just press it again to say yes. Never had to hold mine. Thanks for watching btw. I just refreshed this engine and I'm working with Josh Bader to get it tuned and its a night and day difference with the response.

We'll we pushed the stock motor beyond its limits obviously but the built engine we had custom built from Outfront Motorsports has held up great.
And here I was thinking my 272 whp subie was fastish. How's the pull when you generate boost?
First off, wow on the build! It seems tho on the quest for big power with the fa20 it needs such a big turbo to make power and spools so late it's almost not worth the lag. Ruins the powerband. Also what's the redline?
@DLewisMoto
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! So this is an EJ257B 2.5L with dual AVCS not an FA20. Full power comes in at about 5k RPM and redline is 8500rpm. It is a little laggy but I would also never actually drive like this video where we start way below the power band, this for strictly for a data log for my tuner. The 6870 turbo is a little lazy but will lay down 1000whp in these cars with the right mods. I just picked up a smaller 6466 for running on the street which will spool up a good bit faster but still make around 800whp if we push it. I should also add that this car is just a toy for me, I only drive it on sunny days when I have time to enjoy it, I have a couple other cars and a truck that I normally drive.

Think u have space to add a smaller turbo for the lag?
@DLewisMoto
Жыл бұрын
Not really. I mean if you wanted to go full custom fabrication to fit a compound turbo setup or two smaller turbos you could but you'd also more than double the cost of single turbo and the boost threshold isn't really an issue in a purpose built car like this. You'd also need to use a stand alone ECU that could run multiple boost controllers. At the end of the day its just a basic ICE with forced induction, the possibilities are endless. For me the only real change I would like to make is the ability to run dual injectors per cylinder so I could run two small injectors instead of these massive 2600cc ones. But again that would require a stand alone ECU and wiring harness along with the associated hardware. If I had a standalone capable of driving 8 injectors I'd also add some things like back pressure sensors, EG temps, turbine wheel speed, and a load cell for the shifter.
how long did the engine last?

@DLewisMoto
Жыл бұрын
@@Okaydogo_ Yes and no. If you are adding power to a factory motor then yes, torque early in the RPM's is going to be really hard on the rods. @@Aphrodave yeah it kind of sucks because its definitely the coolest screen to have up on the MFD, but most people with any kind of build are running a stand-alone boost gauge anyway. I personally have the screen with the oil temp and throttle position up most of the time because I have a gauge cluster under the climate controls. I wonder if it'd be possible to produce an aftermarket MFD that can show the OEM subie stuff, but also offer some more options/customization. I could see a huge demand for a product like that

So the OEM dash display tops out at 24psi yes. Even if you upgrade the MAP sensor it still stops at 24psi. Obviously your tuner can scale the ECU to match whatever MAP sensor you run so the ECU will see true manifold pressure. Right now we are running 45psi of boost on my PT6870 with a 4 port controller and a 5 bar MAP sensor. To see boost while driving I have an AEM X-Series boost gauge in a cluster or on my Cobb Accessport I usually have boost as one of my 6 displays.
