It can still be fast just not 1000hp fast. I've driven a small aluminum boat with a 40 hp tiller a few times that one of my friends has and can have a lot of fun!

+Sam C Pound-for-pound 2-Stroke outboard motors are the most powerful internal combustion motors on the planet. A 90hp 2-Stroke outboard is very fast depending on how small the skiff is. I did 100+ mph in a SVT Tri-hull with a bored out Johnson 225 so probably about 300hp. They are a way more stable boat than that V-drive drag boat those guys are in. With the SVT you can run 80+ all day and go over 100 safely when you want to. That popsicle sled they are in is 1000 horses of sketchness and I like my life so I'll pass.

Our old boat had 1000hp, but it wasn't 18 feet long, it was 38' which makes a big difference. You can never have too much power in a boat. Same way with cars! Loved this episode, Matt and Kyle!

I race hydroplanes and have lost friends just tooling around in a river. Not smart without safety in place and no helmet. At least he was not close to speed potential or turning at speed. Cool ass boat. You should race it in APBA SK class.

so how a prop works is like a screw, kinda... so in a perfect world the prop travels through the water one inch for every degree of pitch the prop has, so take one of my boats for example, I've got a 26ft baja with a single 454 in it with some work done.. wait no sorry off track.. the prop on my baja is a 27 pitch prop so for every one rotation the prop travels about 27 inches through the water (without any load) , boats dont have gears so when my engine is WOT at 4600 rpm the prop is spinning at 4600 rpm so do some math and you get 117mph without any weight on the prop add my 6000lbs boat ind its more like 50-55mph not crazy fast but I've got my vking for going stupid fast

V-Drive is where it's at for absolute extreme hot rod boat!!! Built up two stroke outboards are a close second. I love the jet boats too, I/O, inboard...well boating is just fun even just floating down a slow river, but for me the v-drive is the king of smaller hot rod boats. These are just my opinions my friends. I can smile ear to ear with almost any type of motorized vehicle. Awesome video guys!!

I had no idea such a boat could be found in Sweden. That boat has to be a So-Cal creation from the get-go. Hull looked to me like a Howard, hard to tell tell. Maybe a Stevens.Looked like they had a few more sitting around there. Boats like this not uncommon in So Cal or Arizona where I'm from.I was around them a lot growing up. The more I look at it, I think that boat may be a Hondo.

nope no brakes, water resistance is pretty strong, as soon as you drop off plane they stop pretty quick
