1000HP 427 LSX Camaro UPDATE! TH400 OR 4L80E? Which One Is Better? DSX Tuning Triple Idler Pulleys

Quick update. 1000Hp 427 LSX Camaro build. DSX Tuning, triple idler pulleys. New parts new ideas new transmission combination. Trying to figure things out. Need your input on going with a TH 400 or a 4L 80 E transmission. And possible torque converter combinations . Please leave in the description below which transmission I should go with.

    Man I really appreciate you my brother. I try to get the best parts I can. But I still try to save money. But sometimes saving money and cutting corners will cost you in the long run as you see what happened to me. I hope everybody learns from my mistakes and does it the right way the first time. But man thank you I’m still on it the Camaro will be up and running soon. Rossler Transmission is building me a TH 400 capable of going 170 miles an hour. That’s gonna beat the shit brother!!! Then they race people that are way slower than them. I think that’s weak. me I wanna go after the top dogs. People in my category. I’m not gonna call myself undefeated for beating a bunch of lightweights you know what I mean. People seem to think that’s cool these days but it ain’t. and yes, automatic transmissions for sure win races and that’s exactly why I’m doing this. I can’t wait.

    When I faced the 400 or 4l80e issue I went with the 400 because I just feel it's a more durable unit for repeated beatings, i'm at 641 hp n/a on 89 octane and just starting to learn my options for turbo's and e-85. That pulley setup looks world class.

    Right on my brother. I hear what you’re saying. I need something that’ll take a licking and keep on taking LOL. And I need something that’ll go 40 to 165-ISH and with my gear and tire combination along with engine rpm at 6800 RPM. I should be around 170mph roll race. My engine revs to 7800 so that’s perfect. None of these guys will dig race these days. Everybody wants to roll race because they just don’t understand about driving their damn car and feathering the pedal and actually controlling the car not just pushing the gas from a roll. but right on my brother I appreciate the comment.

    the th400 has one down fall in your situation .. no lock up converter option unless u buy the 10k unit (not including the converter)..and if ur roll racing ur going to want the lock up ocnverter. the 4l80e is tunable as far as when u want the converter to lock up.. call Circle D .. they will guide you in a direction.

    Yeah, I heard a lot of good things about this set up. Let’s see if it works. The guys I talk to needed it after 22 pounds of boost on their superchargers.

    Well, you know me. I’ll be on the street more than the track. But we are setting this transmission up to run 170+. so hopefully it turns out to be a good transmission. Rossler Transmission is building this, so it should be a beast.

I have a feeling they gone or they got hacked o well. Seriously thanks for the quick response. Only if you feel comfortable answering- same car like yours, just a budget of 5k , my car just has cold air intake, based on your experience, what would you do for some Extra HP. By now you have done everything right except the power coating on the heads I believe, but that was a great life lesson too!

    GP tuning does my tuning. Not sure if he’s going to continue tuning it for the new combo but who knows. Decided to go with a TH 400 because it’s so bulletproof. And the price comparison was huge. Also the torque converters huge price difference. At the end of the day the TH 400 can withstand 2000 hp built by Rossler Transmission. And it’s able to get me up to the 170 mile an hour mark. That’s what I really needed to do from second gear on a role race. I may be shooting myself in the foot, but I’ll be honest with you. I’m running out of money and I just want to get this thing back on the road.

    The new pulley combination will be 2.5 upper and a 10.0 lower. Trying to hit the 1200 hp mark.

    ​@@outlawperformancegarage5211I would consult with Greg and a tuner before going 2.5/10 thats spinning the blower way to much. You have a pretty solid build. Not sure of your compression ratio or cam spec. But I know those heads flow really good. So if your going to need that much psi. Then something is wrong. Efficiency is the key. So no more than 20psi should be needed. Hell a buddy of mine is getting 1214 hp at 18psi. So tone that Pulley combo down. Before you break a shaft. Or it locks up on you.

    I am running a 2.5 upper and a 9.45 lower pulley it makes 20 pounds of boost during the summer
