I've never owned a KLR 650, but I have such an appreciation for them and the people who ride them. They aren't for the vanity, they're strictly for the adventure - like a really great Leatherman - and the riders are usually some of the nicest people on the road. I did own a KLR 250, though, and that bike is what moved me from Street bikes to Adventure bikes.

Nice review! It's great to know that you haven't had any problems with the bike. I recently purchased a 2023 KLR base model, and at 764 miles on it so far, I absolutely love the bike! I live in the Silver City NM area and do my riding in the Gila NF.

10K review is a lot credible than the 100, 500, 1000 mile mostly on asphalt reviews; thanks! I love my 23 Adventure, and love me some NM riding (used to live in Las Cruces and rode all over). Sub.

Thanks for the video. I just bought the exact same adventure Klr 650 2023. Only have put 17 miles on it but getting ready to do a 4 day camping trip on it up here in north Idaho and through Montana. After watching your video on the bike, I am very happy that I made the right choice in bikes. Thanks again for the great review. Happy riding.

Nice. I bought a 2022 and I'm also happy with it. I have 3 Harleys but wanted a lighter dependable bike for the odd trail riding I do in the Delaware water gap area.

I've got right at 4,000 miles on my 2022 KLR650 Adventure and have had zero issues, and I love the thing. My only complaint at all is that it's geared just a tad short for the interstate. I won't mind changing out the chain and sprockets though, it'll give me an excuse to go to a 16 tooth front and drop those RPMs a bit.

I really wish they had put a 6th gear would of made it perfect I’m worried that the 16 tooth gear will make first gear to high you’ll have to let me know how that works out

I bought a 2011 with a 16 tooth on it. The previous owner rode a lot of highway. I changed it back to 15 tooth because I’m more in town, back roads and off road. I feel like it runs better. It has more torque and doesn’t struggle at lower RPM’s and runs fine at 70-80mph. It’s just a little vibey over 70. I think 5 speeds are fine but it would be nice if 1st was geared a bit lower and 4th and 5th were higher. While six speeds can give you that higher Top Gear sometimes they don’t.

@@insatiable_mind I’d agree completely. I had a feeling that would be the case and I ride way to many trails for the 16 to work for me I need that low end torque thanks for your input it’s valuable information.

Im thinking about buying one of these. I havent been on a bike in 20 years though. I grew up riding smaller dirt bikes and had an ATV. Think this would be a good beginner bike?

I do believe this is a very good beginner bike it’s not to much power but enough to get the job done with out getting hurt and it’s a well balanced bike they now have a shorter version if height is a problem I hadn’t rode in about 4 years and it was so easy to get on and ride again
