I am definitely going to build one of these, with a pre-assembled rectifier & pre-amp board though. I am amazed at how cheap most of these parts are, minus the toroid. EXTREMELY CURIOUS at how well this thing will sound on expensive speakers!!

I see this in several of these build videos. You must have a good mechanical connection whenever you are attaching or connecting things together. Solder is to connect things electrically. It can get brittle and break with age, especially if things move around. It is work hardened very easily. What you see here might be good enough for testing an idea but anything permanent needs to be mechanically connected first, then soldered. And yes I am aware that modern machine placed components on circuit boards are often held in place by nothing but solder. Those work fine for tiny resisters and such that weigh nothing. Wiring and such needs good connections to last.

That is an important point, i see that too, lots of youtubers neglect that

That amplifier is so wrong, you need the VBE Multiplier transistor on the outputs heat sink or it will self destruct by thermal runaway, on top of that there is not fuse for the toroid primary, when the outputs get destructed the short will make that toroid a ball of fire.

After this much hard work, video ended as if the creator was gonna miss the bus

te recomiendo que uses un transformador con tap central GND. que tenga 3 líneas de salida .

Saludos compa veo que las placas son buenas y tienen 12 transistores por canal lo malo que veo yo es que tiene poco voltaje Pará los transistores y el puente rectificador es de poco amperios Pará mi tiene que ser de 35 AMP el el voltaje 75 minimo qué ya rectificado te viene dando 106v CD ojo en la red de 110v y el voltaje tiene que ser por canal

50 watts, no more from that transformer. Dude, you need current! My transformer on my subwoofer amplifiers had 0.8 ohms as primary coil (1.5 mm diameter), secondary has 3 mm diameter 2x 45v. Yours looks for supplying... Something 6sq are the wires from the transformer to the bridge and the startup is done through a 30A relay So, what I see here is some amplifiers construction... But sorry, is out of discussions

The transformer is no CT ( center tap ), can you draw the conection to bridge dioda and caps ?

i think its only deliver 150 watts and not 1000 watts because the torroid you use are very small

I am sorry but your transformer is quite small. Normally, if the supply is not fall during high consumption, 50x1.41 = 70.5 volts, means at a +/- 70.5 v, you can have around 500W at 4 ohms Better after finishing your job, insert a 1000hz signal at a 4 ohms rezistor and measure the voltage on it. wires in the caps are too thin; all the other power wires appear too thin too.

A short circuit protection shoud be included, once a power transistor failed, the amp will be totally killed. No fuse ever does.

what? are u using full wave? i think u should use dual complementary power supply.

Driver transistor doesn’t need to be big, they need to give less than 1A, so you used very good transistors where it wasn’t useful. Wires for power supply are too thin!

I have two 500VA 50-0-50V torroids for my 350x350RMS amp and each torroid is bigger than the POS shown in this video! :D I'm also running 12 x 12,000uf filter caps, more than double the homebrand caps shown here. Must be one of dem PMPO 1KW for like 0.000001 of a second amps...

No creo q ese amplificador sobrepase los 400w ... Y con esa fuente virtual mucho menos . Se le podía haber sacado más rendimiento al tiroide enrollandolo con doble secundario .
