Airheads forever! R80/7! Best motorcycle I ever owned!!
This one put a big smile on my 75 year old face!
The r17 shirt shows the enthusiasm, the BMW bikes are so beautiful
What a great ride with a fantastic video....! Bravo... Guys!!! ....allthree of you. Hi Dennis.... I was an old College Mate of Jay Leno's (Emerson College, Boston, 1973) but we weren't friends....... just classmates for one advanced speech class, last semester, Spring of '73.... so he doesn't know me..... When I was a student there, I had an old 1963 BMW R-27 250 cc. Earls Fork Bike... which I safely rode through both Boston and Cambridge....... Glad you guys had a fabulous time and your "Riding into History" I'm sure was a fabulous event. Don't forget to stop in someday at Dale and Matt Walksler's "Wheels Through Time Museum, " in Maggie Valley, N C...... Cheers, Ted Schempp, Nashville
Classic bikes have so much character.
Awesome video. Good on you guys ...all the best...Chris

Just now watched this, what a great experince as a dad to do these rides with your son.
Ok now. Whoever is doing all your video recording needs to be given credit also. They did a spectacular job. Bikers and non bikers should find this video very appealing. I know I did.
The wildest moustache on KZread! What a great trip. Can't wait to tour the US. I hope you guys appreciate how blessed you are to have such freedoms and opportunity in an amazing country Thanks for sharing 🙂
A video! This is the best Tuesday ever!

Nice garage brother!
Now that’s going for a Putt , there’s nothing better in life than going for a long putt , similar distances in Australia to ride across different states.
Beautiful bikes, especially the guzzi. Watched Dennis since before I went gray, he's still the best. World needs a 'my classic motorcycle tv' using the tried & true formula

We kinda tried it. TV networks weren't interested. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqJ3uJOsddu2eNo.html
This sparks a vivid memory of mine, my Dad and his close friend (still) rode their Guzzi's from Victoria B.C. down to California multiple times about 50 years ago, somewhat bittersweet now since Dad has sold all his bikes being that it's not safe for him to ride these days. A different time for motorcycles then, things like harmonic vibration that would vibrate the screws out of your Nikon, the same quirks and tricks of different bikes observed in this vid, early chassis built with questionable engineering merit, he rode them all, had the CB 750 in the 70's, Grampa had the 550, he raced an Elsinore, he bought a new Matchless as a young man, restored a beautiful Vincent Black Shadow, BSA's, Ariels, lots of cool stuff. I ride an almost 20 year old Honda now, to see if it will ever quit which I doubt it will, but with my years stacking up a bit now, I find that motorcycles are one of the last things I would be willing to give up since they provide so much more than just bugs in your teeth and a shiny coffee shop trinket to display. You can get a big smile just from buzzing around on a 50cc scooter in the backyard if you have the right mentality! DONT GET OLD!
I have rode my 1996 XL1200S 900 miles in a day. 140 -150 kph. Also, my Girlfriend and I rode our bikes 11,000 miles through the US and Canada in 1999. Two months, 200 hours in the saddle.
Trip of a lifetime for true friends & enthusiasts! Every father/son needs to do this. Of special note: the only time you'll see Dennis' mustache out of control & un- groomed😂

it's not widely known and Dennis wouldn't want this to get out, but.......in the back country, when flying down the road in light traffic, Dennis employs his moustash to help keep his helmet on!
Thank you! Hope we'll get to see all of them eventually. ;)

Beautiful Country and bikes . (pretty-good moustache too) I owned a 73 R60 for 12yrs , simple elegant machine . My TX650 is the same year , there's something about riding Old-Bikes that modern machines can never have plus you can always fix them 'on-the-road' . 400miles is my longest trip, but my buddy who is in his late-70's, would do a thousand-miler in a heart-beat . The R60 and R60/2 are 600 cc boxer-twin that were manufactured from 1956 to 1969
What a great video I road a lot of the motorcycles I'm seeing like the old Indiana
3:00 transmission enGaged brain not. You see what I did there? Good on ya for leaving that in.
Thanks for the ride along and video
What a great show! Always great content keep it coming!
I need this in my life
wait a minute, I bought this...have it loaded into my iTunes too...watch it if you haven't. Of course his son is like 30 now...
Fantastic. I loved the bikes.
Go Dennis. So you’re a Hoosier? I’m retired in Brown County, IN where my mom’s from and wife has family in Madisonville, KY. 🧨 P.S. My dad was a Penn State Trooper in the late 30s and rode Harley-Davidsons. Here’s a stat for you. Twice as many troopers were killed on their motorcycles in those years than from firearms. Needless to say, there was zero chance of me riding a bike as a kid.
Yes sir I'd love to do it with you too ride a badass old shovelhead
Amazing
Nice to see the electric start finally used on the toaster tank lol.
Man o Man! What a great vid, fantastic shots and story! I had that Red, White Blue 84 Honda Interceptor back in the days around end of highschool
Man, this made me jealous. Did a dream trip in a mustang some years back at the west coast and the countryside in the USA is just so beautiful wherever you go. Now I also have my motorcycle driving license for a year and eager for a longer trip. Not quite a classic, but on my comfy (and quick) 2008 GTR1400.

Thanks Dennis , can you put this whole series back on. I would like to see a whole lot more of you than the crap they have on motortrend tv now.
Great video! Thanks for posting. 👍😊
Great episode. A lot off fun. More road trips please.
And now for the 1000 miles back!
Those roads are beautiful . I live in Ontario Canada and you have to ride a Rokon to stay on the road and safe . Lol
Vintage bikes can do some serious miles. In 2019 did two Ironbutt Saddle Sore 1000s with a twelve hour break between the runs, on 1975 CB550F Super Sport. First SS1K the bike completed was in 2017. (SS1K requires at least a 1000 miles ridden in less than 24 hours)

I rode a CB550 from Florida to Alaska two up one time. www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-motorcycle-touring/florida-to-alaska-zmyz16mazhur
That was awesome
🤙
Great!
no Earl's front fork? no rubber solo seat? no small luggage rack bolted to the back Fender? You'll never know the true Joy of writing an old BMW.
Great video, and amazing bikes! Such style, each of them unique and legendary in their own right. Question: the guy riding the Guzzi...what leather jacket is that?

We’ve been together a long time.🙂
Nice video boys … still say old Denis need's to trim that dam mess back !
It rains so hard in GA and FL may as well just pull off under a Bridge for a few minutes..
The Guzzi wobble is due to the springer seat. Change to a standard single seat with no spring and the wobble is gone.
Planning on a trip from Indianapolis to Florida soon on the Harley. Would love to see a map of the route you took to get there.
1:24 in.... OPEL GT! There’s one!!!!
Nice video amigo 😀👍
a 1000 mile ride? Hec, that's just a warm up. In 2013, at the age of 72, I rode my bike from CA on a mission to 'bag' the 13 states I had never previously been in before, ALL of them east of the MS River.....1st new state....GA. First 'key' destination....Key West, FL. By the time I returned home, I had put over 13K on my motorcycle...and had an over $4,000 motel bill. If you think I must be wealthy, couldn't be farther from the truth and never bought a new car in my life. New motorcycles...well, that's another story, but I always paid cash. "Let someone else pay the interest and take the beating, as my ex wife's uncle often said. BHE
Great video, 👍sat down with my kid's and we all enjoyed watching yer journey,😀 I really don't understand the dislikes, 🤔must be concerned parents, 🙁or hard-core car enthusiasts,🙄 be great if they could elaborate, just to understand 🤔

Anyone who questions whether a properly set up aged BMW will start doesn't know bikes. Now Harley panheads, that's another matter.
Chase vehicles required....

If you're going to shoot a TV show they sure are!
That's not a ride, riding under 200kph isn't a ride. It's a commute.
