    Good long term review! Johnny Mow sent me and I am a new sub. I run Ferris commercially for 9 years now, all middle of the road priced machines (first was 1500, then a couple 700's which I still run, and just this summer bought a new 800 with 52 inch deck for 6.5 k. Love it for the money.

    Great to see you've had a lot of trouble free usage from your Ferris. I was running the ISX800, and just traded it in on a 3300. What a mower. For those reading this, what separates Ferris is their suspension systems, now called the Next Gen or Forefront system. Normally when you hit some choppy areas on a lawn you have to slow down to avoid bouncing up and down in the seat. With a Ferris, I can maintain higher speeds since the mower absorbs those bumps incredibly well. I would tell anyone looking for a top tier zero turn to at least give Ferris a look and maybe even demo one. You won't be disappointed.

    I have to disagree on the grease points. For me that was a selling point that can’t be beat. I know it’s a little time consuming but this is the alternative. ... I cut in south Louisiana and we have a lot of wet days. I’ve been cutting for 14 years and about 120 yards a week. My last two Ferris I got over 3,000 and just sold them to get this new is3200 with the oil guard. Before Ferris I had 6 other 60” zero turns with sealed bearings. They do not last for ever by any means!!! Replacing all of those bearings can be much more time-consuming than greasing, very expensive, and the worst part you never know when it’s going to break. They always break when you need the mower. However with the grease-able bearings, I was able to go the entire 3000 hours without changing a single bearing. No breakdowns on the field at work, other than the occasional belt. I highly recommend having grease fitting bearings on everything.

    Good to know 😉 hey just curious, when you grease your spindles on your 3200z, do you pump until it comes out at the top of the spindle? Or do you just count the amount of pumps? Because if I do it daily, it takes 20-40 pumps on hot days and if I wait a week to do it ,then it takes like 100. I 've been using Lucas Red Thick and Tacky and I'm going through 2 tubes of grease a week between my Z2 and my 3200Z. We do 70 lawns a week 5-6 10hr days a week. We average about a 1000 hrs a season between my 2 mowers.

    I was hoping he would answer your question. The amount of grease you’re putting in each time seems excessive to me too but you’re putting a lot of hours on it. Makes me wonder if I’m putting enough grease in my is2000 spindles. I usually put 8 or 10 pumps in every 10-20 hours

    J's Crazy Cutz, LLC I have never put more than 15-20 pumps. I have a standard size grease gun and usually put 10-15 pumps. I don’t see grease come out generally. I think maybe the amount of pumps you’re using is over kill. Try pumping 40-100 pumps and look how much grease that is. Is your grease gun primed? I don’t think you can even get 100 pumps out of 1 tube. Maybe you have a blown seal? Is grease coming out the bottom?

    I have to " agree to disagree with "Johnny disagreeing" Sealed bearings or really any bearings rarely if ever will "instantly breakdown" they usually wear out over time and the sign of that is the growling they start out with, I have thousand+ hrs on turf tracer hp 36" never had to grease it's been mildly growling due to some jackass leaving a 4way lug wrench in the deep grass (picture just inside of the Swale next to culvert pipe as you come toward the driveway across the front at ditch deep as hell and "POW!!!" I'm still running it and it hasn't gotten worse. And when it's time , you don't "rebuild" it, but just replace it whole, smart $$ is in sealed spindles, Grease requirements are a costly/messy/nightmare/time consuming aggravation . Looking at Cub cadets new 600xt specifically due to zero zirk fittings and their warranty policy . Love that z3x though...ain't gonna lie 😆🤘

I wouldn't buy that Kawi engine again ,at least not the DFI version . $3,000 seems like a lot money but, it might be the right investment🤷‍♂️hope you figure it out 👍

    I think your over greasing your machine. Check your owners manual for service intervals. My John Deere z920m says to grease every 50 hours on the spindles and they don’t take anywhere near 100 pumps to fill up. I think mine is maybe 10 or less than that. If your losing that much grease you might wanna look into a higher quality grease that can hold up better. I use schaeffers grease. One thing that might have happened is if your spindle doesn’t have any pressure relief you could have possibly blown a seal out the bottom of the spindle. This would allow your spindle to lose its grease faster under use.

  • @JsCrazyCutzLLC

    @JsCrazyCutzLLC

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks for your suggestions but, I have over 2100 hrs now and it's almost 6 years old. I think if I was over greasing them ,something would have gone wrong by now. I now own 5 Ferris mowers and all of them consume a ton of grease ( about 25-50 pumps in 60- 80' ) ( about 50-100 pumps in 80-100" ) I use " Lucas Red and Tacky Grease " I've also used other brands, same results. These spindles on this Is3200Z are cast iron and don't have a check valve at the bottom. Instead, the grease comes out at the top of the spindles but, below the pulleys when they are full. The other 4 Ferris mowers that I have are equipped with aluminum spindles and they do have check valves at the bottom of the spindles. I usually grease all my spindles once a week during peak mowing season. Thanks for watching and commenting

  • @FishFind3000

    @FishFind3000

    Жыл бұрын

    @@JsCrazyCutzLLC the only thing over greasing can cause as an issue is blown seals. To me that just seems like an ungodly amount of grease to be going through. How many tubes do you use in the season? It could be that your grease gun is worn out and doesn't move as much grease as it once did. Have you tried measuring how many pumps it takes to get 1 ounce of grease to come out? Different models pump different amounts of grease. When I compare my Lincoln grease guns the pistol grip takes 56 pumps for 1oz vs a lever style only takes 28. This could be why there's some confusion on how much grease is being used based on just the amount of pumps needed to refill your spindles. Do you use several cases of grease over a season per mower?

  • @JsCrazyCutzLLC

    @JsCrazyCutzLLC

    Жыл бұрын

    I go thru a minimum of a tube per week during the height of the mowing season total for all five mowers. I use a Milwaukee 12V grease gun. I have never measured how many pumps it takes to get an oz. We may do a test just to see. If I had to guess it would take 5 to 10 pumps to fill the white cap off a grease tube.

    Thanks....I'm not sure why our mowers use so much grease. Maybe It's the heat down here or the closed off baffles on the deck....I don't see a difference on hills with or without the roll bar. My mower holds hills well. Maybe its the difference between our turf grass. We have warm season grass which kinda grows out and weeves together. I think y'all grass is softer and lays over easier. Appreciate you watching the video! I'm 5'8" and my wife is 5' 5". We both use the mower and love the ride quality, it's excellent. The seat that came on it was to big for our frame and lacked support ,swapping the seat made all the difference. I would probably buy another Ferris but, I would probably go with a 2100 series instead. The 3200 series is a bit to bulky and heavy for what I'm using it for lately. I have 1250 hours on it now and I just had to order new shocks and struts for it because they are pretty wore out. It was like $500 plus tax / shipping. I've heard the shocks are only good for 1000 hrs. I'll be doing a video soon on swapping them and talking about the mower some more,SUBSCRIBE and hit the BELL in case your interested.

    Exmark has a much better cut quality and lives a better finished product but, only if the yard is in perfect condition ( not too tall ,not too wet , very little weeds , level yard etc. ) However, Ferris mowers leave a decent cut and finished product no matter what condition the yard is in . We ran ExMark for our first 5 years in business. We had always had top of the line ExMark's . The 60" ExMark Lazer Z X-series with 35hp efi was over $15k . I had to replace the deck belt ,drive belt,tires and pulleys every year on that thing! I also had engine problems. The Ferris IS-3200Z 61" was $13,200. I didn't have to replace the tires until 900hrs (2years) 1,100hrs on the deck belt (3years) no pulleys replaced yet. No engine problems yet🤷‍♂️Nothing rides or handles hills better than a Ferris in my opinion 😉

    Did you look at any other mowers like Scag?

  • @JsCrazyCutzLLC

    I've tried a few Scags but, don't really care for the ergonomics of those mowers. They are built to last and have one of the best cutting decks but, I prefer Ferris even though the cut quality isn't #1

    You forgot to mention that the ride of a ferris 3200 is superior to any other mower out there ,when your mowing for multiple hours.

    For a mower priced like that, the deck should be heavier steel. I saw one in person and was disappointed in the deck's robustness. Compare to a Grasshopper deck -- not even fair.

    I agree but, I gotta say I never had problems with deck bending or breaking yet and I hit stuff all the time. Plus the mower is roughly 1,450 lbs, I think it's already heavy enough 😎thanks for watching and commenting

    Ofcourse all EFI got electric pumps. When you turn key to position one you should let pump it for 3sec and then start it. Not just yolo it and starting without pressure.

  • @JsCrazyCutzLLC

    @JsCrazyCutzLLC

    Actually no! It stripes well enough without one in my opinion. We are in the south and warm season grass usually doesn't stripe but, the Ferris still gets it done 😎👍
