Probably bc you used a quarter stick instead of a firecracker. Legal firecrackers are pretty weak. The large ones in this video only use blackpowder, which is alot weaker than flashpowder that is found in m80s, quarter sticks and the small firecrackers.

These videos give me comfort. When I was five years old I could only watch as my parents were brutally murdered by toilets. Since that day I have made it my mission to rid the world of the porcelain menace. And you, sir, have shown me the way. Thank you.

I knew a guy in high school who flushed an H-100 down a school toilet(one of those that hung on the wall). It blew that toilet off the wall and busted it into about 100+ pieces. Of course, you have to remember, an H-100 is equivalent to a quarter stick of dynamite. The bad news was that the john was down by the gymnasium and the ensuing flood messed up the wood floor where the basketball team was playing that night. The good news was that gym classes were suspended for over a week.

As others have commented, it only takes one waterproof firecracker to destroy a toilet if it has water in it. Water is non-compressible, so the shock wave will blow out the sides. I know because my son did it to one of our toilets!

Its bc these are blackpowder firecrackers. You don't see these in the US. We only get those tiny firecrackers, but they use flash powder < 50mg. If you got something that destroyed a toilet, it was most likely an illegal m80 or quarter stick, made in the basement of your local hometown pyro! They have flashpowder in them too, about 3 grams for an m80, 7 grams+ for a quarterstick. Flash powder is alot more powerful than blackpowder.
