they’re not super different no, a lot of them clash a lot and often people are both goth and punk. goth stemmed directly out of punk, hence the genre “post punk” (the first goth genre) and had the DIY focus like punk not the same but very connected and related. a lot of punk rock bands are also goth bands.

WOAH, no scene makeup, attributing dark lips to Rhianna alone, and making a random statement about non-binary vamps that doesn’t seem particularly relevant to the video itself. Yikes.

woah that was bad make up was poorly done no fitting outfits/accessoires most of descriptions were just hilarious not even the music fits why not taking real goths/punks doing their own look instead of taking random mainstream people and doing such poorly done looks big minus is not mentioning any real icons like siouxie or robert smith not showing trad goth is pretty sad too where did you do research for looks? pinterest?

They'r basing these looks off of "popular" fashion of the time but the whole point of goth and punk was that it went against the mainstream. That 1970's style was only vaguely punk. Not sure why they COMPLETELY skipped the 80's goth movement and the 50's beatnik style (the spiritual predecessor to punk and goth). And they picked steam punk for the 2000's? No scene or emo fashion? Are you kidding me? The biggest resurgence of punk in decades, the popularization of guy-liner and brightly colored hair before it was socially acceptable and they just skip it? And of course, Rhiannon invented the dark lipstick trend. Definitely wasn't a thing in the 90's and 80's.
