It has a regular ATLAS COPCO compressor and a bunch of plastic hoses. How can that be a ''maintenance nightmare''?

It's a Cat-D9.....
There is a saying Japanese trucks are reliable and long lasting but can’t handle to much weight and German trucks not that reliable and doesn’t last too long but would pull 10 times the weight that a Japanese truck would pull.

I don't know who told you that, but he's wrong... It may be that new trucks need more service etc. but trucks like the MAN Kat will survive everything and everyone.

@T72driver Ты прав. Но я работал на МАЗ 543 (двухкабинный) где были бортовые редуктора и подкачка которая усложняла все это.
