All other countries except US are enjoying advance and cheap EV from China......the US society are going backward, almost becoming like North Korea......without tariff, China is not even selling to the North Koreans, similar is happening in US.....
What are you scared of little Biden
Corporate burden shift to Public burden
You're so uninformed, but its on purpose
For regions like Hong Kong that do not produce EVs, we are delighted to import what are known as overcapacity EVs. As for those regions producing EVs, you have two options: either increase your productivity or raise tariffs to protect your auto industry in the short term. However, in the long run, good luck to you.
Revux impact is a testament to its unique approach.
US scared to death
All wrong. US EV vs China is an alternative reality. 1. China has a dozen big EV manufacturers with over 100 popular models from cheap than Seagull to SUV and pickup trucks to sports cars. New designs are faster, sleeker and cheaper than Tesla. 2. Tesla batteries and fast charging are bought from China. 3. China has government built state of the art electric grid, millions of chargers and 5G emission towers installed. Chinese EVs are not just cars but The Third Living Space outside home and workplace. Some driverless taxis and buses are already taking passengers. Soon people can instruct their cars to go pick up their mothers or their kids, maybe buy groceries on the way back. Chinese EV and US market are chicken 🐔 talking to duck 🦆.
You should look up the word 'competition', competition is good for the market. Hint, you can defeat your competition by simply being better. There, glad to have clarified that for you.
So it's not about the Environment, It's Greed.

Two bits: First, the learning curve also includes drivers learning to handle the immediate torque that comes from EVs (as opposed to the gradual torque from a revving up an ICE engine). There is a reason why Teslas rented by Herz had 30%+ more accidents than the average vehicle. Second, EVs have not held their value as well as traditional ICE vehicles. When a Porsche Taycan is selling at less than half of its purchase price four years later (and Porsches are known for holding their value) consumers see that and it adds to the reluctance.
@yulusleonard985
6 күн бұрын
Because they are overpriced and easy to update. Chinese sells their EV at lowest price as possible so the only depreciation are from updates.
Right on. As a consumer in US I am entitled to the best quality at the affordable price. Hate to pay extra for some DC armatures decision.

Better look elsewhere for good quality, these Chinese EVs are notorious for their bad quality. Just look up the xiaomi SU7 that only made it 39km from the dealer
To succeed in the ev market requires availability of charging stations . You can’t make a plan for all the nation to have it available everywhere in the short term . The way to get around this is to invest in a large metropolitan area with all the supporting infrastructure and make it take off in that area . Once that example has been shown to be successful, other large metropolitan areas will follow suit . Long term solutions would then be more acceptable and available.
if it's only a small percentage of a small segment of EV, therefore not important, then why bother raise tarrifs on it at all, not mention to 100%? does it qualify as "china threat", so it's very important, or not?🤣

They are using manipulation and propaganda to try to make their way into the us market so they can dump these cheap, low quality vehicles on to ordinary people and destroy their lives and livelihoods. Their standard of safety is lower than western standard it will cause unnecessary accidents and deaths. Just look up the Huawei suv that got stuck under a water truck. It caught fire, trapping a family and the doors wouldn’t open, nor did the airbags deploy. They died. And before you say accidents happen every day, it wouldn’t have been that bad with a higher quality vehicle. They could have opened the doors and escaped safely
