We were returning from a restaurant one night when I was little, and passed an elderly gentleman attempting to change a flat tire in a downpour. My dad cussed under his breath a bit, and parked, headed out into the downpour to change the tire. He came back irritated that he was soaked in h is best suit. I asked why he did it. He said that there are some things in life you just DO because you have to, it's part of being a good human being. And it's rarely convenient. Thank you, Dad.

My dad is retired after 20 years of serving in the military. The day of his official retirement from the military, all of us (lots of family and friends, 25+ people) went to a restaraunt to celebrate. My parents were worried about how big the bill was going to be, but by the time it was time to pay, my parents were informed that everyone's meals had been paid for by an amazing stranger that remained anonymous. This was a bill that was over $300 USD, and I will never forget the look in my parents' faces when hearing that it was paid for. Some people in this world are amazing and deserve so much for their generosity.

I am 44 years old..grew up and live in NYC...and was raised to be courteous to others...I always hold the door open for people behind me...ask elderly or anyone struggling if they need help with their packages...offer rides to elderly people walking(especially in the rain)....and I am always getting complimented for being so chivalrous....the sad thing is it should be a normal thing..yet most people are so shocked, they think there is some underlying reason for me helping..sadly so many elderly are afraid to let others help thinking they will be robbed/etc. ...or holding door open..people stop and look at me before entering to see why I am doing that and what I'm planning...so sad so many people aren't used to common courtesy to the point t they are afraid when it's offered

At 5:46 that just broke my heart. Little girls smiling looking happier than ever, against all the odds of being incredibly poor with absolutely nothing. No wealth at all but yet these kids still fine the light in all that darkness. We should all be grateful for what we have, because compared to these kids were are wealthier beyond imagination. But yet we're still depressed and these kids still find a way to smile. We should be learning from them.

So many acts of kindness can go a very long way. This one guy was singing and so many people walked by. He was amazing. I had $20 and I was going to use it. But I decided to give it to that man because if I just walked by I would’ve felt guilty. I’m just that kind of person who’ll always give without accepting anything in return. But the hood always has a way to come back to me without me realizing it. I’m blessed to be in a world where there are good people, but I also know there are people out there who CAN be good. They just need to open their eyes, and see that this world doesn’t need hatefulness or war to have love. We can all live without fighting, without hating one another.

The pillow at 3:35 had me in tears. My Auntie gave a blanket with my dads face on it to my to my step mum, after he sadly passed away of cancer last year. She often cuddles it and cries. My dad and step mum are each other's worlds and it's so hard seeing her hurting. As well as most of the cancer videos welled me up. Cancer is such a brutal, horrible disease that claimed, my grandpa, dad and uncle. Unfortunately, because of covid I wasn't able to attend my dads funeral in person as I work interstate in the military. No doubt the hardest thing I've been put in my life.

The graduation touched me personally. My son lost his junior and senior year. He lost a scholarship to japan (and all other programs possible). I am not rich, and now with things re-opening, there is NO thought of openings, or re-newed spots/scholarships for the ones canceled by covid - for the two years of forgotten graduates , *covid's forgotten generations*- . No graduation ceremony. I bought a graduation gown from amazon, he had his diploma and awards, so i made sure there was at least graduation picture - even though no ceremony for them. That teacher - that went house to house - brought tears to my eyes - he gets it.

I'm sorry that you struggle but it is ok to struggle sometimes. Everybody's eyes are different so their perception is different. Sometimes it's the noise or lights or excess stimulation that makes everything close in and triggers things but know that while it is shit that is okay too because you are who you are to be able to deal with it. There is a reason why you are exactly you and everything that makes up the very unique and one and only you. You are your own light and own volume, brighten it as you need or turn it down and the same with the volume. Know that you and your world are beautifully unique. As for the scary part, you are the hero of your own story, you will find your way. X

My daughter her friend and I were in New Orleans one weekend and walking up canal street to our hotel was a homeless man. My daughter and her friend gave him the ice cream she had and the drink from her friend. New Orleans canal street is a busy main road with a lot of foot traffic so there was a group of women walking close to us passing the same homeless man. Those women said “well, he’s not gonna make it long”. Instead of offering a small something they chose to push harder down. I am not one who feels I should save everyone , but, I believe in kindness and gentleness to lift someone up even for a few moments. Not comment on how soon they are going to die or be hurt etc. even “street people” who chose that life and drug addicts alcoholics etc deserve a small treasure of kindness That momentary smile and thank you we saw and heard might have been enough to bring an additional smile and warmth to that man later. It made my daughter her friend and I happy also. I don’t know why some people have to b rude or purposely hurtful and just plain mean to others. If this is ur way of dealing with others just shit the fck up and keep walking. I hate this, Incase it hasn’t gone unnoticed !! Golden rule still remains.

The poorest of people are the most giving. I would have never left that cat tied to a fence. I would have untied it and taken it inside or in my car as it may have been abandoned. I find it hard to believe that a caring owner would have left it tied up in the rain. Umbrella is not enough in that situation. If there was an owner, I would have waited hours if needed, for their return then scolded them for being so neglectful. That’s just cruelty. For all the others, wonderful angels, all of them❣️❣️❣️

It's heartbreaking to see the cat getting soaked in the pouring rain. While I appreciate the man's gesture, I too, would untie the cat immediately if I were there. Because what if the owner couldn't/didn't want to go back and get the cat? Hopefully, another stranger untied him. I hope she survive and is well.

I need to come back to these kinds of videos every once in a while. I often think how I might be the only person in the world who cares.... This is hard, because when you think your actions are the only ones, it makes you wonder what is it all for. To commit acts of kindness, in a world that doesn't care, what is it all for? But then, I see these people and it gives me so much hope. It inspires me to continue having the heart that I have and keep doing the things that I do.

A while back, I read an account of a well being put into a village like that. Everyone celebrated, but within a week, the well was unused. When the people who put the well in asked why, they found out that the former well, which was outside the village, had been a place where the women (who were responsible for getting the water) could have some time to socialize and complain to each other about their husbands. So even though the new well was very nice, they preferred their old well which gave them a social life!

because he knew it was not going to help him. he was going to blow it on whatever addiction he had, or get it stolen from someone who seen him with cash. he didnt want target on his back. Money does not solve homelessness. and no it doesnt help either. its a mental issue. where they choose addiction over function and lost everything. Edit. i not saying dont help these people. but they need care homes with psychologists and in time job coaches. but they have to first choose to want to improve before anything else can help them. some countries they are doing this and its working very well. and a select few cities in america as well. again doing great. the cities that just throw money at the problem? homelessness goes up...... and or best case stays the same sadly. these are facts throught history and the world.

A few years ago, I used to work for a traffic flagging company. We were on a job site in the middle of summer, super hot and uncomfortable underneath our PPE. A little girl and her father who lived on the street we were working on made it a tradition every Friday to treat the flaggers and utility workers to a bin full of freeze pops. And my god did we REALLY look forward to Fridays even more than we already did lol! It really touched the hearts of everyone working on that site. I wish I could've repaid that kindness to them somehow. Thank you little girl and father. 💚

I was 23 back in 1981, and the July heat was bearing down. I had a job working air conditioning and it was the first time I'd ever seen cable clamps. There were 3 of them attached to some wires on a junk unit at the shop I worked for. I cut the wires they were attached to and put them in my truck with no plan for them, just they were interesting and cute if nothing else lol. I was fascinated that even though they were tiny, they seemed very strong. My last call sent me to a housing projects area, the fourth ward, a very depressed area in Houston but with good folks living there. The customer wasn't home but her daughter met up to let me in and telling me they were looking forward to the new ac system. I was there to connect the wiring after the new installer finished his part. It was running in 15 minutes and cooling, so her daughter called for her mom to come home. On the radio in my truck I called the shop, they told me to wait for 2 hours and call back, no work for now. Lunch time anyway. The owner came home, a large, old lady who was so sweet and insisted on feeding me. Red beans with sausage and rice, corn bread and mustard greens. I couldn't refuse and it was delicious! She told me the house was so hot they had to leave for 3 days while the ac was being installed and were so happy to be home. She called several friends who showed up to cool off and eat too! A party of large, sweet old ladies. She asked if I could look at her neighbors ac that hadn't worked for several months. Said she had the key. After that lunch, of course I would. Checked it all out and found the 3 wires on the compressor had rusted loose, dangling free, almost touching each other but not. Yet, they wouldn't go back on either. Then I thought about those 3 little clamps. After 20 minutes of tinkering with them to pinch the wires on, they were in place and actually holding the wires nicely! Insulated it all by using electricians tape around it. Turned on the breaker and I was so pleased when her system came on strong. Soon the place was comfy again and @ no cost! Told the ladies next door it was fixed and all at the same time, they squealed with happiness! Just like cheerleaders do! They called the owner that her ac is running again, I could hear her talking she was so excited! On the old school phones a persons voice couldn't be heard by others unless they talked loudly. In 20 minutes she was at her house telling me she had to pay to live with her controlling and mean sister for almost 5 months while she was saving up and that I was her angel to come and rescue her! She called her friends to come over! Soon, there were 7 other, large older ladies visiting, chirping away and laughing and thanking me !! I've never felt more love and appreciation in my life. They all acknowledged how large they are and that these houses are too hot without ac. They couldn't have their sewing groups or just get together or offer friends a place that's cool to come to and all of them were in their 60s and 70s, telling me how a working ac actually means life to them. I said I felt that her system would work at least the rest of the year but could probably work for the next 3 years if she kept up with filter changes and that she only needed to replace the outside unit when it did go bad, not the entire system. With that news, she got silent and so did the other ladies. She just stared at me for a long second and her eyes watered up and as she sniffed, she turned and left the room! Iwasn't sure if that was good a thing or not. Defiantly not the response I was expecting. One friend went along with her, patting her on her back talking too soft for me to hear, kind of consoling her, while another told me, "It's ok... she's just very happy! She had been told the opposite thing about needing the entire system done and that nothing could be done with this one...but she is now able to spend the ac money for an operation she needs she recently found out about. Thank you." With the emotions happening, I didn't pry for more details, but I left thinking I'd helped more than I could know.

If people can do kind things for other people, it be my one gift I want to see. I always done stuff for my family. Yesterday, I bought up my uncle’s garbage can and his mail because he’s getting up there in age and he can’t do anything anymore. Plus, I cook every night for my working mom, fold laundry, opens doors for people, says good morning, afternoon, have a good day, and stuff like that because I care for my family and I want to spread kindness to others who deserve it even if I risk my life doing it. Who joins me? My grandfather said: “an act of kindness goes a long way. You have exhibited so much kindness, people should follow in your footsteps.”
